Default Lowering Springs - Anyone do it themselves?

Just wondering if anyone did it themselves..and if so, how long and how difficult would you say it is? Thanks

I just did it last weekend.

Took me and a friend about 3 hrs total(about 1 hour of it going to the lights).

We installed eibachs, ares leds (sidemarkers and parking lamps) and silver turn signal bulbs.

It was actually very easy (thanks to air tools). Just take your time.

The fronts are what took all the time, so start with them first.

The rears only took about 5 min each, seriously.

good luck with it.

If you have experience doing these kinds of things, not long.

You need to be two so someone pushes down on the front suspensio when removing the front strut.

It took about 2 hours. 10 mins x 2 for rear and about one hour and 40 minutes for the front.

put the car on jackstands, remove the bolts holding the spring assembly in place, and then use a floor jack to add pressure from underneath, then slide the spring assembly out. You need a spring compressor to take off and put on the springs. Rears are so easy, it does take about 5mins for each as posted.

I did the Eibachs on my car. This is one of the easier spring jobs I've done. Did it with my friend and we are both mechanically inclined. Had it done in less than two hours.

We did not need a spring compressor to install the springs. Just a second set of hands to push down once you get the eibach on the front strut ... maybe ~100lbs ... just me leaning on it did the trick.

I am not all that inclined, but it is pretty simple .. just take your time and look how everything goes together .... makes it pretty easy to take apart.

Take this advice at your own risk:

It is a waste of time to use a spring compressor for this car, both to remove or install the new spring.

We just wraped the spring in a towel, and opened the strut bolt facing the wall slowly, it went like 2 inches, barely had any compression...

To install, just have someone push down while the other threads on the bolt by hand, it's as easy as that.
