WOW....Awesome pics Judge! Thanks!

Where were U when I installed mine!

Looks like you still have OEM non Brembo calipers. Not sure if that makes a difference. I have to do something very soon as it's the season of HPDE's! Not sure I want to get a new pair from THEM.

My friend with a new set just informed me he was mistaken. StopTech has made NO changes.

EnthuZ,
I'm sorry that you had problems with your lines. As you have seen from all of these other posts, this is not a problem with the lines, this is a problem with the install. I've had my lines on for a year without any problems at all. We cannot be responsible for incorrect installs. I think it is unreasonable to expect us to do so.

What we can be responsible for is improving our install instructions. I remember seeing another post a while back about someone having trouble with the install. We talked about it, and we want to do a revision. It's just very tough to get everything done at this time. It will happen.

My suggestion is this...quit being such a baby and deal with it!
Just kidding!
What you need to do is email your fellow 350Z owner (me) at jeff@stoptech.com. He will give his fellow 350Z and loyal customer (you) a good deal on a replacement set if you want them.

Again, sorry if the instructions were not clear.

Thanks for the reply Jeff.

I do not appreciate your inference that I installed them incorrectly.

I had sent pics of my install to Matt, and he said I did, in fact, install them correctly.

I do like the brakes a lot! This minor problem needs to be addressed ASAP. My guess is that the melted coating is happening immediately after a track session. If there is enough heat to cause this, it can't be good for the fluid/Teflon liner. BTW, what temp. is the Teflon liner rated at?

nice and clean work on that Judge. One question, do the hardwares to route the lines come with the SS brake lines set?
Do you think zip ties can withstand the heat enthuz is producing?

Oh yes, the mounting bracket hardware comes with the set. As well as the crush washers and through bolt. It's all included.
The way I have mine installed, the lines dont touch anything. Even with full range wheel travel so zipties aren't needed. Actually I wouldn't want anything touching the lines other than the bracket. By the way... it's hard to tell by the pics but the bracket fits the lines tight. It cant be removed. You have to force it to the sweet spot once the lines are on. Then the lines are held in place tight.
The StopTech lines are actually a perfect fit. I'm completely happy with them.

Enthuz,
They definitely shouldn't be that close to the rotor. If Matt signed off on your install, then I apologize...not sure why he would do that. Sometimes it's hard to tell from pics exactly what's going on with the routing though (unless your pics are like Judge's!).

We'll get you taken care of though...no worries. Thanks for your patience.

As for the teflon coating, I'll check with my engineer when he gets back from the World Challenge race at Sebring next week. BTW, cars running our gear are on pole in the Touring race, and 2nd in GT.

I installed my new Stoptech brakes with lines last Sunday, and I was able to arrange the lines such that they never rub on any surface at full lock. I left the upper portion of the heat shield intact as per the instructions. Only the bottom half was removed. Hopefully, this will help prevent any melting of the teflon coating.
