My dealer re-torqued all the front end suspension fittings when I brought the car in for the first oil change. They found two loose bolts. The problem disappeared and has not come back.

I am having the exact same problem. Is there no TSB out for this yet? Do you guys think that simply tightening the suspension is a permanent fix?

There is no TSB that I know of, but I had this done in September and since then I have done 1 autox and 5 track days and no noise.

well, to keep adding to this post, I have had this same problem for about a year and a half. it happens rarely though. i think when i go in for my next oil change i will have to ask them about it. maybe they can fix that also.

TSB was issued today 7/28/04 by Nissan in regard this issue.
Was having the same problem, dealer solved it in 2 minutes after reading directions from TSB.

"Some of you may have seen my posts of my problems with the Palm Nissan dealership at the buy side and even though it is a thing of the past, I was apprehensive about going there but I have to say that it was a great experience, the guys there are very enthusiastic about the car and eager to fix the problem not just bandaid it, their enthusiasm with the Z is what I had hoped had been with the whole ordering process, but better late than never. I want to thank Bill Minogue (Service Director) and Joe (who did the work) for their attentiveness and help. Looking forward to seeing them only for routine maintenance or Nismo installs."

Sorry to hear about your sh*ty sales experience. Mine was the opposite. Sales guy was enthusiastic about the car , but zero satisfaction with the service dept. Sounds like you lucked out in getting a good service dept. Mine just does oil changes. Anything else your sh*t out of luck.
