Cusco Swaybars - Nice Autocross Improvement
Had the Cusco sways installed last week then went to SCCA Solo2 regional practice and points event this past weekend.
Impressions: Turn-in is tighter and significantly reduces bodyroll. I could flick the tail out on turns to adjust my car's attitude in preparation for coming out of turns quicker versus understeering and rolling out a bit which I tended to do. Coupled with the meaty 275/40/18 tires front and rear, I cut my times by 1.5 to 2 seconds on a 70 second course relative to 7 competitors in the same and other classes from which I usually keep track of for their consistency or similarity. I still need to improve with more experience but it was nice to feel an actual difference with equipment adjustments/changes.
I have a video available for download from Saturday's practice. This was at California Speedway. We ran it Pro Solo style with 2 mirrored courses running against another car with a drag start. My mods so far are: 5zigen FN01R-C's 18x9.5 +22 Front and Rear. Kumho Ecsta MX 275/40/18 front and rear. Nismo Power Steering Oil Cooler Kit, Espelir JGT500 exhaust, Injen CAI, Cusco Sways (full stiff front), and Tein Flex coilovers with EDFC (found front 3 and rear 3 to be the best for conditions on the EDFC).
Right-Click and Save Target As Please disregard times displayed on video as they were more often than not from the other course (my friend made the video).
