Default Upgrade To Brembos?

I have an enthusiast coupe and was thinking about upgrading to the Brembo brakes? How much should it cost me counting installation? Is it worth it?

Additionally, can anyone suggest better brake pads than the stock ones? I've heard people say hawk. Will the Nissan install them, or will they have Nismo pads that are better than stock pads.

I am totally lost when it comes to mechanics, so I apologize if I sound ignorant. Thanks.

i use hawk hps and i have no problem + no noise + no dust(yeah!!!!) at all.
i have touring 6spd with nismo wheels. i highly recommended.

i wanted to know about nismo pads quality but seems like no one really has it since nismo doesnt' recommend their pads (for non-brembo) to stock rotos.

brembo is too much money (GT kit is 5.5k, right?) unless you find a 350z used brembo kit for less (1.5 - 2k)

i see so many "happy" poeple with stoptech 13 or 14inch kits.

change brake pads are bang for the bucks. no dust, bite better.
but if you drive really really aggresively on the street or weekend race or have alot of money to make your car look really cool, i think stoptech 14" drilled kit is a way to go.

i hope this helps.
good luck!

Thanks. I checked the Hawk Website and they only have pads for 2003's. Are the 2004 350Z's the same? The customer service rep wasn't sure. Thanks.

Why upgrade? I think the only reason to upgrade is if you do track work. I had no trouble with my stock brakes at the track day (tho that's not racing...), and before I upgrade, I'll probably just get better pads.

I saw some show last night where they dynoed some car, and they lost 7 HP when they went with new wheels/brakes, even tho the setup was lighter, since the weight was farther out on the bigger brakes and wheels. I know big brakes look cool, but I don't think 95% of the people who get them have any real need for them.

I guess you are right. That's why I was asking. I will go the pad route. I'm ordering Hawk pads.
