Default Euro-Tuned Suspension

Does anyone know what the difference is between the original suspension and the new Euro-Tuned suspension? Is this Nissan's answer to the feathering problem?

Hi there!
Im over in the UK and have been horrified by all the problems you guys have been having regarding feather/cupping.
So much so, that I was going to leave buying a Zed completely!!
Found the UK version of this site and have had confirmation that none of the UK spec cars have suffered from this problem.
Surely the fact that Nissan have changed the suspension, means they're kinda admitting guilt over this one and should be sorting out a proper fix for you guys ? Although their reason in any literature for the change is to"suit UK roads"

Can't confirm exactly what's different technically, but, speak to any of the people on the UK site and Im sure they'll be able to tell you exactly!!

Do you have a link to the UK 350Z site?

They changed the spring rates, lowered the initial compression on the shocks, increased the rebound on the shocks and changed the bumpstops to increase the length of travel slightly. It was posted months ago, so do a search to verify my recollection.

Sorta sounds like a similar solution that Koni found except the stock springs stay as is.

Your suspension for the 04 model year should have now adopted the European Specification suspension... but Nissan Motors Great Britain are being very vague about what the changes are

One of the UK guys has over 10K miles & no feathering issues whatsoever...

I'm sure Nissan will never admit the problem outright considering all the problems we have had here in the states. It would cost them a mint if they 'had to' correct all the faulty suspensions. Apparently, it's much easier to just keeping throwing tires at the problem.

Interesting. Someone I talked to a week or so ago said that the only different part #'s were for the shocks. He is ordering the shocks for about $79 a piece. If your information is correct, it sounds like he may be disappointed.

Konis are made in Holland, aren't they?

Maybe not, I think the shocks are the weakest link in the suspension. BTW, I remembered the springs are higher rate than the original ones, so he could get a slightly smoother ride w/more rebound control.? Who did he order from, a U.S dealer?

At $79 a piece (4 tot), it's about the same price as getting new front tires ($170 x 2). So, since NNA hasn't offered it up for folks with feathering, it's probably not the solution. But, then again, I'm wrong about 50% of the time.

That is why I will stick with the Konis I've ordered. Matched to the springs may yield a better ride/handling combo than the S-Tune. Whatever, the bounce will be eliminated and too much compression and too little rebound of the OE shocks should be a memory. I'm willing to pay double for that trick. This week, maybe next, I'll find out if I'm right.

Yes, a dealer in Virginia. So the Konis are only 1-2 weeks away? Still looking forward to your review and hoping that they make a significant difference.

Just heard from 350 EVO. The Konis were received, processed and shipped today UPS Ground. Great job, Michiel. You guys at EVO are great. Depending on dates, will put them on next week or the week after unless my installer is tied up. Promised an initial report here that day, will deliver, barring a catastrophe.
