just had the Konis and Eibach springs installed on Friday.... initial report is they are much better than OEM suspension. The same stretch of tollway where the Z would feel each bump and transmit that bump through the car is now damped much more softly. The car is still firm over the bumps, but less of the impact is transmitted to the car... feels like the Konis are compressing more than the OEM.

City driving is much more of a touring-car ride now, not the kidney-busting, filling-rattling sports car ride.

So far, I am very pleased with the results.

The Konis are set full soft right now, will adjust them for track events as needed.

The Eibachs drop the car just a little, but it's noticible. Now, my OEM track model wheels look puny and sunk in too far into the wheel wells. Need wider wheels with more aggressive offset, or spacers, to fill out the wheel well. Right now I'm running the the 275/40-17 racing tires on the 17x9 ET35 Enkei RPO2J and those wheels/tires look awesome on the car... they fill the wheel wells nicely. But, that was only for a show, will be going back to the Rays today.

Car is lower... looks good, aggressive. Shocks really do make the car ride better, very happy with those. Now, the true test willl be on the racetrack... will report again after I hit the track.

Cheers,

PeteH

Thanks PeteH. I see that you are running the 350Evo sways also. I will have a similar setup minus the Eibachs. I plan to stay with the stock springs.

I ran the Konis on med setting and really like the set at high speed. I don't know about how you felt previously at speed but my car would do the old porpose move and this was unsettling as hell.

I think you will really like the feel.

C Ray Z,

What are your sway bar settings? How does the car feel on the street with the Koni/Evo sways/OEM springs?

I am running front EVO set on med. My rear is still stock because I run B stock in Autocross. I have the rear sway and plan to install next year. But even without the car is really balanced. Remember I have big tires front and rear. I think this is part of the improved balance.

The ride is much better. Like audio350 says, it is still firm but not the jarring and unsttled feeling like it was.

I ahve about 1500 miles on the Koni's and can say they are exactly what I wanted.

Title is Koni's are here.

jmark:
On sunday at MSA I adjusted Eric's rear Koni's to full soft.
Now he runs front ( just cracked from full soft ) 1/16th to 1/8th turn, and full soft in rear.

He called Monday - He went to work with no dis-pleasure..
He is really enjoying them now.

Cheers Amy -

This link mentions a hold on the 350Z Konis. Anyone know why? Is there a change being made ie paint flaking off?

jmark,

Wonder if this is going to have an impact on "BJ" shipping things out. I received an e-mail earlier in the week advising me he was processing my shocks and springs for shipment. Would Koni contact him and say do not ship current stock?

I have an email to Gordon with Koni and to BJ to try to find out if anything is wrong.

I talked with a shop worker at BJ's this morning and he said that the second batch arrived on Tuesday the 27th and were shipped out that day to the next people on the pre-order list. This is the newest info from them that I've got.

Mark,

It's production not keeping up with demand. Thanks for writing.
