Hey guys,
I tried putting on a set of springs in my G yesterday. The rears went on without a hitch in about 15 minutes a side. However, I had a problem taking out the front assembly (couldn't get the sway bar bolt out for the life of me. I got the nut off but the bolt would not slide out.) So, I put it all back together thinking I would just take it in and have the pros deal with it sometime this week.
Anyway, I'm driving to work this morning and I notice that the steering wheel is pointed a good 15-20 degrees to the left. The car still tracks exactly the same w/ a slight pull to the right as before though.
The only thing I banged on was the sway bar bolt and it wasn't that hard because there isn't enough room to generate any power with a hammer in the wheel well. Everything else was going fairly smoothly up til then.
Any thoughts on what I did to my car? Is it just a matter of getting the steering wheel aligned or did I screw something up?
TIA

What you did shouldn't have affected your steering. When I changed my springs, I had no problems with the sway bar bolt, in fact it was one of the easier parts of the install. To ease it out, use a floor jack to push up on the spring assembly so you ease the tension on the bolt. One good whack and it shoots right out.
