Default Stoptechs new Rear ST-22 Kit

These are coming in the next few months. you will be able to add them to any of the front stoptech kits whether its a 14" or 13.1" kit; they are made of billet aluminum and look to be a nice add on for a front only stoptech equiped car. Even with the rear brakes doing very little for helping braking they will greatly increase the looks of the car. The rotor size is la 328mmx28mm which is deffinatlly larger than the stock rear non brembo cars have.

a couple of pics.

What wheels are those? Gramlights? Do they come in 19's? Those are some of the cleanest wheels I have ever seen!

Very nice...looks like StopTech changed the position of the rear caliper from previous designs.

Kenny that is a floating two piston caliper not like your 4 piston design. this is a new caliper that is made to go with other front wheel only kits.

The wheels could be GL57PRO by rays but i'm not positive
no they don't come in 19's if those are the right ones

The ST22 caliper is only for a rear brake upgrade the kit includes the ST22 caliper 328x28mm rotor, lines, and pads and retails at $1,895.

This kit can only be added to either of Stoptech's front kits avalible for the Z or the G.

The front kits use a ST40 Caliper and comes with pads and lines in either a 332x32mm or 13.1" rotor for($1995 retail) or 355x35mm or 14" rotor for ($2,595 retail).

Or you can go baller 101 with the 4 wheel kit with 355x35mm or 14" rotor all the way around for $4495 retail.

Default Will this kit be properly balanced as to bias?

Is the rear caliper just for show or will it move the bias back a bit (since the front-only kits leave the bias slightly in the front). Basically -- will this kit be (as Stoptech tagline reads) a balanced braking solution.

I want a kit that is good for track driving (I am not that worried about looks).

Skrill,

I think you will have better results replacing the FRONT brakes on your track Z than upgrading the rears. This rear kit uses track rear pads. The rotors are a smidgen larger than the track rears, but, IMO, not enough better than your rear track brakes to justify the cost.

I have an Enthusiast with Stoptech 13.1" fronts and track rear brakes. This combo is AWESOME!

Since you have 18" wheels, Stoptech 14" front BBK, with their soon to be released 2 piece track rear rotors would be near the ultimate set-up for you.

Actually -- I should change my sig. My plan has changed. I getting an Enthusiast and building out my own track model. My plan was to do a Stoptech 4-wheel kit or AP 4-wheel kit. I think the 13" f and 12.8" rear kit will work great -- I just want to know if it will be balanced. Because of balance reasons you cannot simply add a 14" rear to the 14" front without sending the front caliper back to get its pistons resized (according to Stoptech). I want to know if I get a 13" front kit now -- and later add the 12.8" rear, will the kit be balanced, or will I need to get the fronts resized?

Skrill,
I agree to a point these will be piston matched to the front stoptechs were as the Rear Brembo's are not. But the cost is high compared to a small proportioning valve. Enthuz is right stoptech is coming out with an aero 2 piece rotor for the rear of the brembo cars that would make it the cheaper way out for close to the same performance.

Yeah -- but I won't have a track model. I am getting an Enthusiast model.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the compliments on the wheels...that's my car. They are 18x9 and 18x10 Rays Gram Light 57 Pros. They are 25mm offset front and rear. They weigh 22 lbs F, and 23 lbs R.

As for the brakes, ALL of our kits are properly balanced. This kit is the max performance rear kit for the Z. It is lighter than the big daddy 14" all-around kit, and it still has more than enough heat capacity to handle anything you can throw at it. Skrill, this kit uses the same components on the rear as the Speed World Challenge kits: http://www.stoptech.com/press_releas...s_limerock.htm
This new rear is now on about 8 cars in World Challenge Touring: http://www.stoptech.com/press_releas...ineon_2004.htm
