Default Front and rear hub removal to access brake backing plates

It looks like the front and rear hubs on the Z are held in with 4 bolts each.

The rear hubs require a puller the fronts don't, correct?

If so, it looks like a simple job to remove hubs and modify the backing plates easily on the bench rather than on the car.

I want to do a nicer job than just hack things while mounted on the car.

Is this true, or is it more of a hassle than that, due to potential damage to wheel bearings etc.

I have pullers to do it.

Thanks.

I have had both front hub/bearing assemblies off my car (swapped from side to side actually). It is a simple job.

Be careful of the speed sensor on the rear and the little dust cover back there (white).

I seem to remember that one bolt was a bit hard to get to, but I managed to get them off with no problem.

Actually, it is a bit scary thinking that the whole front end rides just on those 4 bolts, so make sure to torque them properly when you put them back on. I have the manual downloaded somewhere if you need the torque spec for them.

I did not do the rear so I cannot help you there.
