Nismo Sways vs Stillen Sways
Which ones are better and why? I think some people would pick the stillens being better because of their ability to adjust to the stiffness but then why would the nismo be more expensive then??Also even if u get the stillen theres really only one setting that is supposedly the best setting for everyday driving that the stillen sways should be set in, so that would mean it'll just be like the nismo, because of the fact that u basically wont adjust it much unless u go to a track anyway. So which one is better?? It would be helpful if someone has experiences of them both, but if not any thoughts are welcomed. Thank You.

Nismo's are not better because they cost more. I'll argue your paying more because of the name and that Nismo has to pay someone else to make the bars. You should get adjustable bars so you can fine tune the car to suit your given talent level. The whole purpose of sway bars is to fine tune, you can't do that with fixed bars. Furthermore, deep in the Nismo catalog, it tell's us the stiffness of the Nismo bars, they are stiffer in the front, not in the rear.

Specs totally unknown and highly doubtfull they are adjustable bars. They are however a very well run company and a pleasure to talk to on the phone.

i have nismo. wasn't really impressed.
if you hold stock and nismo and each hand, i really didn't see difference much.
tiny bit thick and not noticeble weight. busings are also very simular to stock.
it seems like hookies are the bang for the bucks sways. it also allow you to adj. in 3 different setup.

So out of all the sways, which one is the general consensus of probably being the best?? Sways aren't really that expensive so i dont care about the price, I just want to kno which ones are the best.

They were also saying that its not required for street use but more for track use.

i have the nismo sways. i wouldn't recommend it - the understeer is pronounced with this upgrade. i had both the sway bars & nismo suspension installed @ the same time. it helps on cornering - but big on understeer.

I went with the Hotchkis both because the rates made sense to me and because they weren't much heavier than OEM. All the solid bars are considerably heavier, which is extra weight I don't have to put up with, given the availability of hollow bars.
The Hotchkis price is right, too, probably because they've been doing it a long time, and do it for a variety of applications. I got a set of collars to put on, but won't until I'm sure I need them; since my Z is a street machine, I may never need them.

The motion ratio [1:4] of the coupling point of the Nismo 22.2 rear bar is such that the bars are actually 93-95 pounds per inch of body roll measured at the wheel so the 6.7kg/mm rear bar is roughly 43-45% of total rear roll stiffness. Pretty much up to the ragged edge of ideal [less than 50%]............guess 10-11% stiffer bar might be tolerable depending on rear tire temperature.
All a stiffer front bar does is take away traction from the front tires [creates more understeer from overloading the front tires more] and diminishes the effect of a stiffer rear bar.
