SE-R brembos on 350z
Hi i wanted to know if it was in any way possible to put nissan SE-R brembo brakes on a 350z. I might be able to get some SE-R brembos for free and wanted to know if anybody has done anything like this. I know that a lot of the nissan brakes are interchangable. I checked the part numbers and they are not the same, but I know they change the numbers sometimes.
thanks, any help is appreciated.

You basically have two options:
1. Use the SER rotor, but have it drilled out to fit the 5-lug hubs on the Z - SER is 4-lug. This isn't hard to do if you take it to a competent machine shop, people do it all the time.
2. Find a different rotor, like a track model Z rotor, and have custom mounting brackets made so the caliper is spaced properly on the rotor. This is nice if you want to run a bigger rotor, the SER rotor isn't that big, for a Z at least.
-You will need different brake lines. The SER caliper uses a flare fitting, the base Z caliper used a banjo fitting. I'm not 100% sure that a banjo fitting won't work. Track model Z brake lines, if any different, will definately work.
-And I'm not sure on the size of the SER caliper bolts. The Z uses 14mm bolts. I'm 75% sure the SER does as well. If the SER uses 12mm bolts, it won't work, easily.
-SER calipers use the same pads as track model Z pads. I wonder if SER pads are cheaper from the dealer than 350Z pads?
Basically I think the only real issue is getting a rotor that fits. Like I said, you can use the SER rotor if you drill it out, after that everything should bolt right up. A friend of mine just put these brakes on his S13 240SX and it was really easy. If you want me to investigate more (bolt size, line fitting type), it'll just take a phone call. Let me know. Send me a PM or email to phoenixR34@hotmail.com
Eithe way if you can get them for free, you'll get like 600 bucks on Ebay for the calipers alone!
