The AX6 takes the place of the Panther Plus compound that was so successful. AX6 was specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range (150°F to 1250°F +).

Advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial “bite”, high coefficient of friction, and very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. AX6 offers high fade resistance, rotor friendliness at all temperatures, excellent cold stopping power, and non corrosive dust. As a result, AX6 is an excellent choice for Autocross & novice track day drivers and beginner high performance driver education (HPDE) drivers on street driven cars using street tires eliminating the need to change brake pads at the track. AX6 has gained tremendous popularity with SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors for its fantastic bite, release & modulation. Many drivers use the AX6 for street driving as well, even though Carbotech doesn’t recommend street driving with AX6 due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

AX6 is NOT a race compound, and should not be used as such. AX6 shouldn’t be used by any intermediate or advanced track day drivers, and should not be used with “R” compound tires (racing tires). Cars in excess of 300hp and/or 3,000lbs should not use AX6 for any track use.


Carbotec Bobcat1521:

The Carbotech Bobcat 1521 is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX & XP line of compounds, Bobcat 1521 is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521 offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention.

Bobcat 1521 operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521 is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser, and has won multiple SCCA Solo 2 and Prosolo National Championships. The Bobcat 1521 compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. Bobcat 1521 compound has also been found to extend the life of your rotors 2-3 times. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds.

Bobcat 1521 is NOT recommended for any track use.


Carbotec XP Series Pad:

When Carbotech unleashed the XP10 to the general public, and it was an instant success, gathering multiple regional, divisional, and national championships. The XP10 is a very high initial bite friction material, with a coefficient of friction and rotor friendliness unmatched in the industry. Fade resistance is in excess of 1650°F.

Due to the high level of friction and bite, this material is recommended for cars weighing around 2,000lbs or more, not including formula cars and cars with brake bias bars weighing less than 2,000lbs. This is the preferred compound for the front of Spec Miata racers, SSC,SSB, T3, SRF, ITS, ITE, H1,H2, H3, H4, 944 Cup, ST, GS, Factory Five Cobra’s and many more Grand-Am/ALMS/SCCA/NASA classes.

XP10 is also ideal for advanced/instructor level HPDE drivers. XP10 still maintains the highly praised release and excellent modulation, rotor friendliness, and 100% non-corrosive dust that have made all Carbotech compounds so successful. XP10 is not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise

EBC Brake Pads

As EBC’s flagship street brake pad material for prestige and faster cars above 200BHP the 09 version on EBC Redstuff sets new standards in brake performance. Redstuff has always been known for its low dust ability but the latest blend has greatly reduced the phenomenon of pad “Pick up” or disc scoring and reduced dust even further.

Tested at the UK Motor Industries Research Association (MIRA) in witnessed tests early Redstuff reduced car stopping distance in tests by almost 50 feet from 100 MPH offering a staggering 30% brake improvement.

Redstuff however as a harder compound does take longer to fully bed in to achieve its highest levels of performance (can be up to 1500 miles/2500 Kms urban use) during which time the odd “Chirp” of brake noise may be heard when starting from cold in damp and cold conditions at walking pace speed. One press of the pedal to clear the rotor of any dampness and this disappears to leave EBC Redstuff a pad that inspires confidence in all cars. The motto is be patient give the pads a full chance to bed down.

Redstuff is only available for heavier and faster CARS and does find its self at its best on slightly heavier cars or Truck and SUV applications. Brake dust has been rated by many OEM builders to be a more serious source of complaints than even brake squeal and as such EBC Brakes is proud to bring you with this new EBC Redstuff blend what is probably a world first in a pad that is almost dust free yet delivers performance braking.

Less dust also means less rotor wear and it is almost guaranteed that your rotors will last double as long as when used with the more abrasive steel fibre brake compounds used by almost all of our competition.


EBC Bluestuff NDX Brake Pad:

The EBC Bluestuff NDX formulation has been developed during years of track driving and in 2009 was refined to be suitable for the 3000lb USA model cars such as Mustang,Camaro,GTO,Viper and especially Corvette. Even on the (shall we say) difficult to perfect, race braking on the later “Padlet” type caliper using 6 and 8 piece pad sets the NDX performs well.

The NDX pad material is bonded to the steel backing plates using multiple high strength interlock holes and a unique chemical interlayer which raises shear and bond strength by a factor of five and prevents pad to plate separation. The pads are then baked and ground and feature high volume Vee grooves to catch the inevitable large amount of debris from track use.

Target use is all types of fast and heavier cars in performance and race driving with much enhanced lifetime over our previous Yellowstuff grade pads.

EBC Bluestuff NDX pads are now PRE BEDDED by heat scorching. This new piece of equipment that we have installed at the UK EBC Factory allows us to offer you a pre bedded brake pad that beds in within 3-4 stops at the track. This major advantage puts EBC ahead of its competition where drivers can arrive at the track, fit new pads and in a single warm up lap can be ready to race. This does of course still require consideration for rotor condition which must be flat and smooth to achieve good contact, we can do a lot at EBC Brakes but we cannot work miracles (yet).


EBC Yellowstuff 4000 Brake Pad:

EBC Yellowstuff is an aramid fibre based brake compound with high brake effect form cold and is possibly one of the first ever compounds that can be used for STREET AND TRACK DRIVING. These pads do not require warm up but do get even stronger under the heat of hard driving. These are not a low dust pad and if your desire is for a low dust premium street use pad, you should consider EBC Redstuff.

When considering full race use, Yellowstuff has been a strong favourite, having been used for two years in the Swedish Camaro Cup and at numerous other race events where a stock caliper system is fitted.It is also the choice of 90% of the Mazda MX5 Miata competitors in the UK race series and has an unblemished record as rotor friendly track pad for vehicles up to 2000 lbs weight or 200 BHP.In the USA the SCCA and NASA drivershave been testing Yellowstuff with feedback and good reports POURING in from a 543 test driver major market proving event with these groups. Read that figure again 543 test drivers.There is no guesswork here.

Because of its huge heat range , the applications where EBC Yellowstuff will deliver benefits range from fastest street use on higher horsepower sedans to Trackday and Race use on most street based cars and even as a brake upgrade on Trucks and SUV. Yellowstuff is especially appreciated on Trucks for towing and heavy loads and where wheel and tire oversize upgrades have been fitted.
