What should I look for so that I do not buy a lemon

 

what year are you getting?

 

You just have to drive the car to see how it feels/sounds/drives. But the only "big" issues to be aware IMO are:

Grinding gears
Front tires being worn more on the inside than the outside
Excessive rattles/noises/creaks
