Default 2005 or 2006

Just curious ... about to get my Z ... its a 2005 Touring, fully loaded ... would anybody here pull the trigger now or wait for the 2006???

The best part of getting it now is that the dealer is pretty much looking to get it off the lot ... anybody have any thoughts?

Get the 05.

edit: To clarify. If you're paying invoice then wait for the 06. If you can save a few grand then get the 05.

Waiting stinks. You could choke on a hot dog and die. Pick-up the Z tonight and I’ll see you at Skyline Drive on October 8.

That's way too expensive for an 05, definitely wait for the 06! Not sure if you know this or not, but the M/T touring for 06 is actually $1000 CHEAPER than the 05 - they didn't take any features away from it either (the A/T on the other hand went up around $600, without any new features as well). The only downside is the wait - I just preordered an 06 touring A/T this weekend and they told me to expect it in january. Bottom line is if you like the changes for 2006, it's definitely worth the wait as you won't be paying much, if any, more.

What are the build dates for the last 2005 models rolling off the assembly line? Any of them in the year 2005, or were they all made in 2004?

My 2005 Z I just bought two weeks ago was built during the middle of August, 2005. Just about a month or so ago. Very recently built.

I'm in the same situation. I'm getting a 2006 touring as well. I had already worked out the deal for purchasing a 2005 but stopped and decided to wait just a little longer for a 2006. For me the 2006 changes are well worth the wait.
The nicer wheels and the mp3 capable bose sound system were a couple of main points that made my decision easier. And not to mention it will be an 06

I'm purchasing a z (either '04 or '05) anytime now (as soon as I find one with the following: less than 12k miles, leather, automatic & certified for under $29k) & was wondering if there are any distinctions b/w an '05 touring & an '06....Also, if there was anything they added to the '05 from '04? (i.e.- every feature that was added such as illuminated steering wheel audio controls, etc.)

Thanks in advance!!

If $33 K is out the door it is decent price but if you have to add tax/license, it is not.

Move to Oregon and buy one. No sales tax at all and licensing is only like $175.

Yep, you're right. The Touring 6MT price is indeed down by $1,450.00 ($33,700 vs $32,250) The 5AT Touring is up by $650.00. The only difference in content, that I can find, is the 18" wheels on the 5AT.
