Default 05 Enthusiast Pricing

I emailed the internet director at Moore Nissan in the St. Louis area about a 05 Ultra Yellow AT w/ Aero, Splash, Kick plates that they had advertised for 31,700 msrp on the website. It is even listed on the website as that and when i searched for it on nissans website it showed the same thing a couple months back. He emails me back " I have gone outside to make sure the car you are interested in is still here and available. That car is a very good choice. My system shows a total list price of $32,950. You can purchase this car for $28,950.". Now, either he has raised the price to make 28,950 look like a steal, or he is confused. If it is actually 31, 700 what would be a reasonable price to ask for the car OTD? I was thinking maybe 27,400 or something around that. Especially since I have seen a 05 touring w/ a msrp for 33,400 priced at 29,500 in my area.

Sorry so long, but any help would be nice.

Didn't say anything about OTD, so I'm guessing no.

That is way too high. You should be able to get below invoice price on an 05 at this point. Goto edmunds.com and get the invoice price for an 05 and also check for incentives. I think there is currently a $1,000 factory-to-dealer marketing support. Plus dont forget dealers get a 3% holdback from Nissan when they sell the car ( a way to allow dealers to sellat invoice and still make a profit.)

You have lots of room to negotiate a great price right now.

I cant possibly suggest an offer because the MSRP is so vague.

I emailed him back stating I have found a touring at about that price and that the numbers he gave me didn't match up w/ what their website said and what nissanmotors.com gave me a few months ago. It would be nice to find one around 27 out the door. They have to want to get rid of the 05's especially w/ the upgrades of the 06.

Thanks for whoever has responded. If you know of anybody and what they paid OTD for their Enthusiast, I'd appreciate hearing about it.

I was wondering why everybody compares OTD pricing. Doesn't OTD includes tax, license, and registration--which vary state to state? In Arizona, sales tax is 7.6% and vehicle license tax is another 2.8% of the value of the vehicle. I think.

An '06 Enthusiast with typical options has an invoice price of $27850. Add the above fees to that and you're at $30750. That's higher than what others are claiming for OTD. Is everybody on the same page except me?

+1. Out the door comparisons make no sense to me. As you mentioned, states have different tax rates and fees.
