Default Considering a Z, questions:

Hey everyone, my name is Paul and I am from Westchester, NY. I am shopping around and am considering the 350z as my new toy this Spring. I dont much about them so I was hoping you can tell me some about the Z. For instance, I am looking for the upper model, which I understand is the Touring or Sport model? Not the new one. I am probably going to get an '03 or '04.

What is the 0-60 time of this car and the 1/4 mile times? Also, do all of them have 300hp? I am going to get a coupe, do any of them have a removable top besdies the convertible? I dont think so, man I really wish they did. That would be a HUGE plus to have atleast a sun roof.

What are any problems associated with the car? What are some things you dont particularly like about the car? Hows the gas milseage. not that I care, just wondering.

What are some cheap bolt ons that can be done without it sounding like a ricer either to make it quicker?

Thanks
Paul

PS Anyone have nice pics of a white or black one? and good large interior pics. I cant find any pics to satisfy my need to see this car

spacer, intake, unorthodox pully kit would be some cheap bolt ons that would add hp. All of the 350s do NOT come with 300 hp. The base model is 287hp for instance. I have heard of a wide range of 1/4 mile times for stock 350's... From high 13's to low 14's

I mean are these thigns sluggish or do they have some ***** to them? I havent driven one yet as it has been snowing and raining where I am the past few days. I am waiting for it to clear up.

You are asking tons of questions. All of your answers can be found if you do a search. There are countless threads on these. But I'm feeling nice so here goes.

1. The major factor of the 03 and 04 is that they have major problems with tire feathering, tranny grinding, window grease streaks, window motors, engine shutting down when shifting into nuetral, "bouncing" problems and rattles. If you want to avoid these problems get 05 or higher.

2. 0-60 times is around 5 sec, 1/4 mile is around 13sec. Correct me if I'm wrong guys. Note: The Z is design to handle as well. It has great cornering abilities but it doesn't seem like you're into this kind of stuff.

3. 03-05 are 285hp exception for the 35th edition which has 300hp.

4. Coupe or convert only. You can get some nice aftermarket sunroof for around 5k.

5. If you don't care about gas milage why you ask?

6. what is "cheap" to you? CAI will run around $150+, good exhaust is about $700+, TT is about 5k without install.

7. Theres a section just for pics. Look around this forum and you will find many pics.

Corrections to master B

0-60 in 5.4 thats pretty pro... for normal ppl 0-60 in about 5.8-6 seconds (magazine times vary too... best mag time is 5.4)

1/4 mile in 14 seconds stock and a bit more than 14 depending on driver

03-05 normal models are 287 bhp

Why would you want sunroof...
I'd cut the roof and make it a T-Top?

Gas milage if you drive like the car will rot tomorrow you will get around 15
(what im getting)

Intake from 100 dollar pop charger to 400 dollar ARC titanium intake box (i dont know why buy it but ...)
Exhaust range from 300 dollar custom straight pipe set up to 400 dollar topspeed from Ebay ( good exhaust) to 2500 Powerhouse Amuse Titanium exhaust...

I'd not go FI because it cost 10k parts + tune and i'll have a better car like M-Power or AMG

Oh okay Bamyi, like I take the time to join and then ask questions about the car. personally I dont care what you think. Funny, I just joined what 10 minutes ago and I already know who the board ******* is.

SMD < figure what that stands for.

Thanks for the info. I'll get the rest of my answers somewhere else and maybe when I get one I will post pics of it. If not, I will just buy the Esprit I wanted. and post pics.
