Default Thinking of buying a Z need some advice/help

Ok heres my story

Last August was in need of a car so I purchased an 06 Scion tC
it served its purpose for the time being but now im thinking of getting a Z

I have been making payments regularly and only owe about $15,000 on it
it only has 5100 miles and is in great shape and the dealers ive been to have been willing to give me at least $16,000 for it.

Now to the Z
I found an 03 for around 22995
and want to trade the tC in and get the $16,000 for its and so forth
I just need advice on how i should proceed
the tC is my first car and I dont mind transferring the $15,000 that i owe and adding the $6,000 remainder since there is about $1,000 differentce from what i owe versus what ill get.

I know i should probably go for an 04 or higher but i cant seem to find one in Massachusetts for under 25k.

I just need your opinions and help and whatnot seeing as how this is my first time doing anything like this.

Like how does the transfer of what I owe affect everything and how does it work. This is my initial research before I even start looking at anything.

thanks

I recommend that you pay off type Scion and drive it free for awhile. Nothing beats the feeling of driving a PF (paid for).

I don't think that it is wise to go from a 2006 (under warranty now and for the next several years) to a 2003 (not under warranty). The 350Z is hot, but it sounds as though you are going backwards not forward.

Your best bet is to wait a little and get 2-3k for a down playment. Then you can pop that down on an 05 and get out of your scion no problem. Honestly I can't get out of my car for a while, so I just keep test driving Zs every couple weeks to keep me towards my goal.
