Dillemma: 07 Civic SI or 07 350z
Im in a dillema right now between these two cars. Obviously theyre in different class but I just got really sick of the SI's center console, after many months of liking the car. Anyways, how much do you guys usually spend on full tank for the 350z?
i like the styling of the new si. and this one actually has power to back it up. new k20 engine, type-r lsd, close ratio six speed transimission (except 6th gear which is longer for highway driving). this car is said to be better than the rsx. i also heard its underrated in the horsepower category. they say 197 but people have been dynoingand getting 215 to 220 at the crank. its a great buy for its price.
the z is total different category than the si. i prefer the z cuz of torque, rwd, lots of power, good looks and excellent handling. plus theres so many performance parts and body-kits for the z. only negative thing i have to say about this car is gas. last time i filled up from an empty tank it cost me $55. but i its all worth it.
but its on u man. which ever car u take good luck with it!

I can tell you from experience the Si is not better then the RSX. Both are great Honda's. Like everyone else said you can't really compare the two. If you were to compare a honda to a 350z it would have to be a S2000. If you want a highend import get a 350z if you want a daily commuter with a bit of punch and styling get the Si.
I traded in an 05 RSX Type S for my Z and have not regretted it one bit. There is not much difference in fuel costs, both required Premium. The fun factor is off the charts in the Z compared to RSX or Si. I do love hondas, but I love my Z more. When people in general look at a civic they will think ricer, they look at 350's in a different aspect, IMHO. By the way in regards to the S2000, raced my first one on interstate, it had CAI and exhaust, not enough to keep up though.

a lot of the complaints people had on the rsx's performance for example the suspension's unusual bump steer, was addressed in the new Si. also the civic Si has a higher flowing intake manifold based on the japanese accord euro-r (RBC) which yields more power than the dc5r (PRC). and not to mention with the helical lsd (also based from the dc5r) gives it way more stable handling and exit acceleration at the track.
so pretty much for the money, the Si is better in value and performance. but the rsx-s is not bad, but the Si is just that little much better. sorry for being out of topic.

But they have changed a lot of things from the previous SI. more horsepower, new suspension setup, LSD and other things. plus 06 is the last year of the rsx. so i think honda is using the new SI to cover sales from the rsx when it goes out for production this year.

But again at the end of the day you will still be driving a civic.
it really amounts to what you want and what ~$10k is to you.
both are excellent cars. only you can decide if the extra money is worth it. i think the argument will be more convincing (in favor of the Z) with the 07 Z

Ack... Thanks for all the replies. Lol of course I know civic and 350z are at different levels. Well if theres anymore stuff bothering my mind, i hope yall wont deny helping me
I'd say get the Z..
I have a Sentra Spec-V with a few things done to it, and I got into a "spirited" driving adventure with the new SI...
I was kind of disappointed, it ran well but it was alot closer then I thought it would be, and I know the guy can drive he was a friend of mine
My Sentra could never keep up with the Z
Just my .02
