Question About Purchasing a Z...
Hey I am from Houston and am looking to buy a used 350z in the next two months and I had some questions.
1. Anyone know of a good place to look for Z's in the Houston area. I would like a black touring edition with black leather interior.
2. When did the 6-disc cd changer become mp3-cd compatible and how hard is it to integrate an ipod into the 350z?
3. Is the DVD Navitgation system worth the extra money or is it better to get an aftermarket one.
4. What other features should I look for or look out for?
Thanks for you advice guys,
Hope to be a Z owner very soon.

make sure it has a clean title, warranty(unless your handy). Ipod can be integrated into any car....you just need a headunit that supports it. Dont know about the 6 disc being mp3 compatible. Never tried mine lol. Depending on what year you buy the navigation could be outdated. Theres updates for them but i dotn know how much they cost. Check the tires for tire feathering because some have been known to do that. Otherwise, get your Z on!

Here is the Carmax listing of Z's in your general area, hopefully this will get you started.

I say the navigation is cool if it is in the car and they don't try to jack the price up a few thousand for it. Mine when I bought it used raised the value of the car by about $400 on KBB. The salesman kept trying to tell me the car was one of a kind since it had nav and no leather.
You can buy a headunit that plays dvd's and has nav in it for around $1,200 so don't spend a lot at the dealership, look around online or go to some local shops.
I recomned buying at bigger dealerships that have new cars as well. These places usually get their cars in on trade in or lease turn ins instead of at auction. Some auction cars are bought cheap and fixed up and hide prior wrecks and damange that you can't normally see. Mercedes or Lexus places are good to look at too because you can have a better feeling if the car was owned by an older or more well off person.
