Default Question.

I have an 03 base and it's about payed off, but i'm thinking about trading it in for an 06 base or maybe an enthusiast. Anyways, I haven't called the dealer yet, but lets say I do trade it in, would I have to pay more money down? I put 12k down on my 03 last year, I know my monthly payments will go up, but how does that stuff go? Would I just walk in sign some stuff, hand over my car and leave with the new one? That's assuming everything goes correctly.

OKAY:
1: If your car is completely paid off, then go to www.kbb.com and enter in the mileage and condition of the car and get a ball park figure on what its worth so you dont get cheated. compare private party value and trade in value.

2: Then what will happen if your dealer is willing to give you say (were guessing here) 20,000 for your car. then what will happen is that you will pay the difference on an 06 base model (approx) 27,000 plus TT and L.

so lets round up to 30,000 out the door.
that means u get 20,000 for your car and owe 30,000 so you end up having to make payments or pay outright the remaining 10,000.

which is kinda nice considering you get a new 06base for 10,000 and the dealer infact gives you 20,000 for your trade in!

check kbb.com and if you dont get what you want in trade then sell it yourself on autotrader.com or local paper or something.

I recommend that you pay-off your current car first.
