+100

When I got my '05, I sent emails to 8 or 10 SoCal dealerships, telling them exactly what I wanted and asking for their best price. I made it clear that there would be no haggling... lowest price wins.

I forget what the final price was, but the Nissan dealer in Alhambra offered the best deal and they got the business.

Pretty hassle-free and I'm pretty sure I paid as little for the car as was possible at the time.

Good luck!

I wouldn't want 1 of the 1st of these. The motor has 80% new parts. I'm sure some of them will have issues to work out. It sucks tho. Buying an 06 makes me feel bad. It seems like the HR will be good. I'd still wait to make sure.

First thing you need to do before you walk into any dealer is to have a pre-approved check from what ever bank you choose. With money on hand dealing a price is a lot easier. Then go with some one that is agresive and knows how to shop for a car. I hate dealer and car salemans so the second I walk into the dealership I' already PO.

I would have to disagree, always go to your local credit union, and check on their best rates, then go into the dealership and tell them what you can get, and tell them to match or meet it. You can almost always get a better deal on the car if you let the dealership capture your financing. They get a kick back from what ever bank they send it to. If you were gonna get that same interrest rate anyway, why not let them make some money too? You can also use this against them while in the booth. Almost always worth at least 200 to the dealership.

I got my 06 Base for $25,460 (400 below invoice) about 3 months ago.

What's the invoice for a 07 Base nowadays?

I got lucky, but I guess the super duper clean credit rating did wonders.

I only put down $2000.

I basically called one dealer and told him what I was looking for, and said I'm ready to buy and what's his lowest price. Got that and called another dealer.

Did that until I got the best deal and drove down, test drove the car for 15 minutes and did the paperwork on it. In all it took me about 1 hour to walk in, and drive off with my 06 Base.

This method has worked wonders for me in the past with my other cars.

Granted this won't work with a "hot" car dealers can't keep in stock, so your mileage may vary.

That's before taxes and finances charges.

This is the money that the dealer is selling the car for and what taxes and finances charges are based upon.

If the MSRP for a 350z is around $37,000 and the invoice price is around $34,000, does this mean a person should be able to walk out the door with a complete price of $37,000 (including all taxes + title)? Or, are people actually getting an out the door price at around $500 above invoice; which means $34,500 OTD (including all taxes + titles within the cost)?

i walk out of a dealer last saterday when i went to order one. first the dealer told that the MSRP was 39800 for the GT, telling me the brakes and the wheels cause it to me that much. i told him no and that nissan announced the MSRP price and it was 36100. he checked it out and said sorry he mad a mistake. then he decided to lowball me on my trade in, and would not budge from the MSRP. even with my father being an employee for the same dealer, pinebelt chevy over 15 years, and this dealer was pinebelt nissan. same owners. my father is in the process of talking to him boss about it right now so hopefully soon i can order this car up and not pay MSRP. if not i might be buying a G35 which is my second choice.

thanks

One big mistake people make IMHO is that they are pre-ordering these things before the price is known. Wait until Edmunds posts the invoice for these cars before trying to haggle with the dealer. You will have no ammunition and they will walk all over you. You just can not go in blind to a car dealer and buy a new car.

I got a brand new '06 last February for almost a G below invoice... the dealership only agreed to itbecause they were gonna rape me on interest, 10%, even though I already told them I had financed online and they would have to beat 6% to get my business. They were like ummm..how about 9!?!?

I was like dik, I got 6. And then the manager came in and was like we never would've agreed to this deal if we knew you weren't going to finance through us...

bottom line... f those scumbags hard. nissan will show you no mercy. Show them none. F their it's an '07, it's a this, it's a that mind games. Play to win.

I saw that, but there is still no invoice price. Naturally we could all assume what it is with the minimal increase of course.

In this case, you should be able to walk out with the car @ 37,000 OTD. Anyone gettnig OTD on invoice price has got to have the best mouth in the business, and i don't mean sales.

I think getting a car OTD for MSRP price is about the same as getting it for invoice. Good luck with buying the car. Sometimes you might have to drive to get a good price. In San Diego, there are only 2 Nissan dealerships. Pacific Nissan and the Mossy branch of dealerships. I got the best price in LA, over a grand cheaper.
