Shopping around, might have to order. Need help.
Hi everyone, I just started the process of test driving and shopping for an '07 Z, and I've hit a roadblock. I started with my heart set on the Enthusiast, but I found an internet price of $31,000 for a touring ($34195 MSRP). I didn't bother looking at the touring much at first because I thought it would be too expensive. I like the extras the touring has so I might get it, since I can handle the 31k. Problem is, it's not the exact configuration color/option-wise that I want, so it looks like I have to order (neither were any Enthusiasts I saw at the 6 dealers I visited).
Yesterday I asked the salesgirl about the ordering process and they said it could take until July/Aug to get here. I don't know if I feel like waiting that long! I thought it was usually a 3 month wait or less. My next step is to send that internet price to the salesgirl because she told me "she'd beat any deal." I know her personally from way back so I figure I'll at least give her a chance to back her word up.
Not only is this the first time I'm buying a car without parental help, I'm new to the ordering process too. What else should I do? thx

Stick with the Enthusiast and save the extra money for the mods YOU want. I'm getting my enthusiast for 28760. Besides most options can be installed after, check out courtesynissan.com.

So here's a price from the dealer for a touring made exactly how i want it:
MSRP: 34,425
Will sell for 31,700. I had to work for that so of course they wanted me to sign my life away tonight but it seems like a decent deal.
It's about 120 under invoice.

i agree w/ zandmax. it will haunt you the whole time you have the car if you dont get what you have you heart set on.
my piece of advice is to be pre-financed through your bank or something. that will save a lot of headache. if you can do that, you could walk into the dealership with a check for whatever amount and say hey, this is what i have..what kinda Z are you gonna sell me? youre more then a potential buyer and theyll take you seriously when they see the $$.

didnt mention but that price is for the 06 internet special. They are willing tohonor that price for an 07 tho. Had a family member that used to be a finance manager there so that helped a bit since he gave the job to the salesmen

Thanks! I got the carbon silver 6MT Touring. No options except the side airbags and floormats. I want to add the rear lip spoiler, stub antenna, and tint in the short-term, then I'll look around for some more mods
I'm definitely going to do my research and look around a lot more, but what does everyone usually do for their winter set up?
