I make 1900 a month.....but work also pays for school which is an extension of my income. Im young but i put down 15k on the car (it cost me 22k with plates, taxes, etc) and i only owe 7 on it. My payment is only 200 a month and im currently using the rest to save for a down payment on a home.

On a semi-related note, I used to work at bankrate.com, the website that calculator is on. This was during the internet bubble boom/burst, when bankrate was delisted and the company's stock went all the way down to twelve cents a share.
The company was telling all of us to buy the stock. Noone I knew did, everyone was so pessimistic about the company. A lot of us were laid off shortly thereafter.
It's trading at about 40 bucks a share now. Just figured I would share the biggest mistake in my life with you guys. I could be retired now but hey, whatever I guess.
