Yeah, pretty much exactly what I"m doing man.

1850 and I take home 1680..

$680 for my Z, $270 for insurance and then I have $400 rent..then the rest is spending..but I usually work 2-3 days over time for my spending money. Either way I love the Z

I make 1900 a month.....but work also pays for school which is an extension of my income. Im young but i put down 15k on the car (it cost me 22k with plates, taxes, etc) and i only owe 7 on it. My payment is only 200 a month and im currently using the rest to save for a down payment on a home.

its possible to be young and sensible....i just cant afford TT kits or Volks.

like wise, these people making less than I do (not ALOT, but still less) are paying 300 more a month for their cars and rent. damn.

i graduated college last december and livin with the rents. Of my take home, i spend 16% on car, 2% on CC, 2% on phone, 5% on gas, 8% on insurance, 5% at the bar and 3% on student loans = 41% on bills, the other 59% going to a savings account

sorry i like playin with numbers

$680 a month for payment and $270 for insurance seems awful high.

On a semi-related note, I used to work at bankrate.com, the website that calculator is on. This was during the internet bubble boom/burst, when bankrate was delisted and the company's stock went all the way down to twelve cents a share.

The company was telling all of us to buy the stock. Noone I knew did, everyone was so pessimistic about the company. A lot of us were laid off shortly thereafter.

It's trading at about 40 bucks a share now. Just figured I would share the biggest mistake in my life with you guys. I could be retired now but hey, whatever I guess.

Ive used that site before. My payment is 21% of my income, but I really wanted to keep it closer to 15%. I just didnt want to be making payments forever.
