What is required to pay? (buying a car)
after you get a price...lets say 20000.
you have to pay tax, and liscensing...is there anything else that you are required to pay? or is anything they try to add on just dealer ********.

That's it! They will try to make you pay a bunch of crap on the contract after you make your deal. It used to be a standard $90-$100 bucks, and I've seen pitched as anything from a processing fee to a fill the gas tank fee. It's pure dealer profit. My dealer this time around tried to add $400 bucks to the deal with multiple line items on the contract. One was the standard BS paperwork fee, another was for some paint sealant or something ridiculous like that, and they also tried to make me pay for window etching (which was already done at the factory).
The only thing I would agree to pay (and did agree to pay) was for the cost of my license plate transfer and title. That is, the amount the DMV would have charged me to trandfer my plates and get a title issued for the car.
Absolutely do not pay another cent. Have them cross that crap off the contract! And don't let them try to get away with not registering you cars window etchings (if they even actually need to be registered). The old well, you didn't pay for this, crap!
I'm sure they made a fortune of you just like the rest of us with these cars. Don't let them have any more than you bargained for before you had a contract in front of you. And don't let them pressure you. Hold you ground. They wouldn't have agreed to the deal if they wouldn't be making enough money already. They are simply trying to scam you out of a little more. Take somebody with you to lend moral support when you do this!!
Let us know how you made out!

There is the $540 Nissan Destination Charge (just make sure they don't try and include it twice).
There is sales tax. (about $2500 in CA)
There is the state licensing fee. (about $250 in CA)
In CA there is also a $5 tire disposal fee.
I had a $45 "doc" fee, which I've didn't bother to contest, because I didn't really care about it. They also filled the car up with gas, which costs practically the same anyway.
There shouldn't be anything other than that.

All dealers have a "documentation fee" - or some such fee - that is typically listed at $250, $299, $325, or whatever. It's sometimes hard to get this removed entirely and it's usually already printed on the form that they use to write up your order.
You may be able to get it removed if you're paying close to MSRP, or get it lowered if you're not. The dealer will still make several hundred (or a few thousand) dollars in profit.
I had a dealer itemize it once and it covered financing activities and other related activities, such as bookeeping. I told the dealer that I was paying cash and wouldn't pay for those items not related to my purchase. They removed them.
