Question How to buy a GT-R?

My dealers here are not being terribly helpful. I really want a GT-R, but was wondering if anyone could provide help on how I go about ordering one? I hear preorders start on January 1, but what is required to do a preorder (the whole car cost, just a downpayment, etc) and where do I make it if my dealers suck?

Thanks for any help.

You'll have to find a dealership with an allocation, then talk to them. I am sure there will be a "market adjustment" (bullshizzle) on the price, probably anywhere from $15K to $25K.

They will probably want a downpayment to secure an order. I would be careful about that with what will be a hot-ticket car. Make sure it is refundable, and get it in writing.

Visit your local dealer and give them $50,000. That should get the ball rolling.

In case you don't know, Nissan will only ship the cars to dealers that send it's top mechanic to a training course in Japan that lasts a full month. It is paid for out of the dealers pocket.

Speculation is that after enough time has passed the car may be shipped to other dealerships as well.

If you want the car fast, find out from the service manager if they are sending/ have sent a mech to Japan for the training.

Dealerships Do Not Have To Send Any Techs To Japan, Thats All Rumors, The Top Tech Would Have To Take Whats Called An E-course And Pass The Test With A 95% Or Above..... To Be Able To Service Or Perform Repairs On The Car.... If I Hear Any News I Will Post Them In Here..... Oh Btw I`m A Sevice Advisor For Nissan..........

Dealerships are just confirming their GTR status at the present. I think everything should be resolved next month. It probably won't be until staff gets shipped off to training and VINs become available that the requests will be taken seriously by dealerships.
