I go by the kbb value, those seem to be pretty accurate. It's hard to tell if a car is in "excellent" or "good" shape though, and the difference is a few grand. I think I'm going to go down there and inspect the car a bit sometime soon, before somene else buys it of course. Hopefully they'll let me test drive it.

KBB is very high, that is why you see dealers use it when trying to sell cars to you and I making us think we are getting a fair deal. I think Edmunds is a good free site to get close to true value. Something is only worth what the general public is willing to pay, no matter what some book or guide says.

sounds quite fishy if you ask me.

looks alot like a jeep rubicon i saw online for an insane price like that, 10k miles or so 2006 model year and priced at 12k....found out it had a salvage title

so proceed carefully, sometimes things dont show up on carfax. my gf's car got hit last summer and it still hasnt showed up on carfax

2006 for $12K is kind of a no brainer... sorry

When you see 1-2 year old base models and 03-04's in the mid 20's you know the seller has no clue to what the actual value of his car is.
This is really what mind boggles me cause I see it everyday, 03's going for the proce of an 06 base.. no offence but I rather pick up the 06 base.

i just baught my 2006 ppw 6spd touring w. 20k on the clock for 23k
so far from my searching for the last 5 months.. this is a good deal..congrats.. however ive seen Enth. models for even cheaper, and Base well around that 20K mark.

Now, don't laugh, but I assume it might be a touring because one of the photos of the steering wheel shows 6 buttons, 3 on each side of the center. That is indicative of an enthusiast model or above, right?

for a price of 18,700, does that not seem too low?
I would check every panel fender door hood etc. for the factory vin# tag. Carfax is not always accurate. Every panel on the car has the vin# tag on it. Make sure they all match and that they are on each panel. If they dont match and/or there are some missing the panels have been replaced. I know pa is a good state to buy cheap cars but this almost seems to good to be true. look for tags and let us know

classic bait and switch. nothing is wrong with the car, except that they claimed it was a typo and should have sold for 28k, not 18k.

Legally they must have sold the car for 18K you should have pursued that. The dealership tried to bait and switch on a SC400 for 5K and it was supposed to be 15K which is rediculous. He got the car 5K plus tax and title.

It is true, sometimes you can capture great deals. My little sister just purchased a 2004 BMW 325I with 50,000 miles.

She paid 16,000 otd and suggested retail on kbb is 23,000. I would expect that price for other cars at this mileage, but its a BMW. Sometimes you just get lucky. All local owners and clean on carfax.
