Well if you are on (or can get) on the standard discount plan you really don't have to worry too much because those plans pretty much set the prices with nothing much to have to "haggle" on.
Only thing you need to watch is the "junk fees" like documentation and "window etching" are popular ones. Most likely you are going to at least have to pay some "doc fees" but try to keep it in reason (less than 200)
Also, If you are trading in you could get suckered on that as well. If you mentioned a trade somewhere I missed it.
Now if you need haggle advice just let me know.

lol, maybe.... but according to some of the guys on here, apparently there's a pic requirement. You'll have to post your pics first before i'll consider it.
TBs350z, why aren't you humping this guy's legs for pix?

Also watch out for the extended warranty thing that they hit you with when you think you are actually done with the buying choices.
Typically you can buy extra warranty service outside of the dealership for less than you can at the time of purchase.
They of course like to hide the cost of these things in your payment saying "well this plan will only cost you 60 bucks a month" well 60 bucks over a 5 year loan is a lot of cash and can pay for a lot of repairs if you ever need them.

Yah, i hear you. The sales guy was really pushing for me to take it home on Sun and I just wasn't ready. It's a car, it's a big purchase, it's gonna cost me...I just want to make sure 120% that I want to do it. I agree tho, it takes time and have to be really careful.

I've got a suggestion for you. First, stop freakin talking to me. If you haven't noticed...NO-ONE IS ACTUALLY TALKING TO YOU IN THIS THREAD. Second, since you have absolutely nothing constructive to say regarding my G37 purchase, get the F*&K out of my thread. If this is too much attitude for you, i suggest you go position yourself outside of a battered women's shelter. Those are the type of women that would be perfectly compatible with someone like you.
Or maybe the reason you have nothing to say about buying a G is because you're too much of a broke @ss to even think about one. Go take your bus pass, loser, ugly *** and get the F*&K out of my thread.
Bye, leave.
I didn't read all the posts, but when I got my car I dealt with the dealer online to arrange the price. He quoted me 400 over invoice without having to even haggle and the car had just arrived at the dealer that week.
Just a thought.
By the way...welcome to the forum.

Ok this is going to be a dumb question but is dealer "invoice" the same as dealer "cost"? Can someone clarify?
Oh and thank you, glad to be here!

Typically I just talk about "invoice" because dealing with hidden "dealer incentives" and "holdbacks" IMHO just muddy the water when it comes to if you are getting a good deal or not.
Some people expect the dealer to not make any money. They want them to sell the car so they make about 50 bucks and then have to pay the sales staff, the office staff, and the guys that prep the cars.
Personally, I just want a fair deal where the guy selling me the car doesn't hassle me for every penny he can get out of me and yet go home with a little cash in his pocket for the trouble of selling me something I wanted.
