Buying brand new
Hey i just went around pretty much every dealership that has Zs in the lot around my area. I am looking for the base model only and most of them says 28500-29000. Now pretty much every dealer tells me that this is the best price they can get for me and they wouldn't even go down to 27500. Can anyone tell me if I'm stuck on or are they really **** like that?

For a base model, you should be able to get it well under $27,500 before TT&L. I got my 2007 base last November for $24,995 before taxes with a sticker price of $29k and change. We are in different regions, but the price difference should not be that big.
One thing that really helped a lot was internet pricing. Once I got something in writing from a dealership's internet department, I called another dealership in the area and asked if they could beat that price. And when they said they could and gave me a price, I called another dealer and checked if they could beat that price...and so on. Did that for a whole day. Came out with a great deal and a big smile on my face. Hope this helps.

The MAX you should pay would be invoice price, plus TT&L. And it shouldn't be too difficlult to get down to $2-300 below invoice.

nice! thank you i found one on ebay brand new from a dealership even the color i want for 26500 and it was like 100 miles away so i went to the dealership and asked them if they would beat the price. They are thinking about it and im supposed to receive a call back later today. One thing they told me is that its really hard to get a deal right now because they have 0 special offers going on right now.

Nice job on the find. They're full of crap. You can always get a deal on the Z's. Don't let them trick or weasle you into paying anything close to MSRP. Good luck to you and keep us posted on what they come back with.

this is great! the other dealership 100 miles away told me they will beat the price since the model was made in 11/07 and hasnt left the parking lot in a long time. They offered $24.975 with 3.9 for 60 months and its black just how i want it! I might have a Z for cheaper than i thought. It's quite funny because the other dealership told me they will call me tomorrow morning if their manager can beat this price or at least match it.

1) I searched the online inventories of dealerships within a 200 mile radius.
2) I emailed several dealerships that had the specific vehicle I wanted. I offered each of them $500 below invoice.
3) The first one to respond was in Charlotte (about 4 hours from here) and they accepted the offer, but wanted to add $250 for doc fees, and another $200 for window etch. I agreed to pay a $200 doc fee, but absloutley would not pay for the window etch. So I wound up buying the car for $300 below invoice. BTW, it was a cash deal, so they couldn't build in any hidden fees.
4) They agreed to deliver the car (4 hour drive, no charge) that afternoon, and I gave them a certified check. And siince the salesman delivered the vehicle, and brought all the completed paperwork, and I had a check prepared for exactly the agreed upon amount, there was no hassle with the "finance guy" about extras like extended warranties, etc.

Contract law (buying a vehicle) does not include phrases such as “What will you take?” or “I was hoping for $XX,XXX.” Both are ambiguous. Both will most likely lead to haggling.

The price that i got is 24,975+TTL i already put the deposit down, debating whether i should just go and pick the car up (100 miles away) or get it shipped.
