I don't understand the logic here. The RX7 will be the same thing in the winter as the Z. And the Evo is the most expensive car to insure in America. I think OP is just upset he dumped all his money on a looks/sound and nothing on performance.

I like RX7's, but that one is NOT worth $34K. I don't care if it's a magazine car. Once you drive it for a month, it's not going to be a show car anymore. It'll just be a 15 year old car with alot of mods. I mean, if you think it's worth the money, go for it, but I wouldn't pay a penny over $15K for a 15 year old car with 100K miles on it.

first things first-

I would never buy an Evo(or STi) with 30K on the Odometer. I'm sorry, there is just waaaayyyy tooo much that could have happened in that 30k. Especially for the asking price. I'm not saying the car won't fetch that.
Its just not a good investement IMHO, coming from someone who is a huge Evo guy.

Second-

I can't comment on other states, as said before- the evo is one of the highest cars to insure in MA(as it appears to be in many other states). Not a deal breaker, but something to consider.

Also, I pay roughly 20.00 more a month to insure my 05 STi(first owner, zero citations in over 10 years) as i do over my brand new 08 Z, here in Boston. that works out to only 240.00 a year, but still its over 3 years older. food for thought.

If you're looking for a cheaper of everything (Insurance, car payments, gas) why are you getting something that is about the same price? Get a econobox IMO.

if you can't afford the 350z.. what makes you think you can afford the rx7 or evo.. go for a tc or the new corolla's.. get great mileage and maybe we might see you in a toyota commercial talking about how much you saved and how the mileage you get lol

you should look into 3000Gt Vr-4. I am prolly get 1 when i get rid of the 350z. The insurenace is lower, its AWD, 6 cylinder twin turbo. Lots fun and reliable car!

Rs7 is out of the picture, i've heard way too much crap about them and problems plus i need something for winter, Sti's are too much $ and i've never liked driving them(my buddy has one) and i already had a scion tc i hated it which is why i upgraded. its not so much the payments that are killing me its insurance, maybe a maxima or something would be better? i'm really not sure thats why im asking

not only are RX-7's very unreliable cars and you would spend more in fixing it than EVEN IF you got a decrease in insurance. Try to think of the long run here. Evo's as stated are one of the most expensive cars to ensure here in the US and shouldnt be much different.

Back to the RX-7 there is no way a car made in 93 will be cheaper than your Z. Old cars are not as safe thus costing more in insurance...i originally had a 95 chevy berreta and bought an 01 eclipse...insurance was actually the same and the eclipse is for sure more of a sports car.

go with the evo. trust me i've had 2 rx7's and they are very unreliable. you have keep changing the oil every 1000 miles. replace spak plugs at the same time. $12 each. (2 leading, 2 trailing). wastegates would get stuck open every now and again. hoses would leak or pop off. apex seals went bad once. super loud(especially with street port).

Simple. Buy a used Jeep. You don't need anything fast because you already have your bike. Plus its a true all weather vehicle. If you don't need anything big get a TJ, if you need anything bigger get a used Grand Cherokee. Then you're golden. Don't waste time and money on expensive to maintain imports when you already have what i think is the cream of the crop.

If your worried about insurance, buying an evo will make it worse. Someone told me that they cost just as much to insure as viper would.

I would say find a second job, or part out some things until you make some money.
