i just came across this post... ive had 3 FDs and have never had a problem but thats after:
New Apex seals
vaccume hoses
all new fluids
remove all the emission CRAP
and now 1 of them is a dedicated track ***** and the other 2 have seen the graveyard after getting hit in the driver door/front panel (both times). But insurance isnt cheap, and if u dont know what your doing ur kind of fked. It takes a lot to be comfortable around that engine but once you know what your doing its a GREAT car, i loved it twice as much as my Z right now.
IMHO it really sounds like you need a corolla tho if u cant afford the Z the evo isnt for u and if u dont know a damn thing about FDs they REALLY arent for you

Def not trying to be an *** but Im a logic kind of guy...and your OP makes no sense.
Your trying to get rid of the Z cuz of the insurance and payments? but your going to buy a car at about the same price as the Z (25k for Evo) which is by the way theee top stolen car in the country which will make it #1 for insurance as well.
Plus you say you dont have time to drive it cuz you drive your bike in the summer. So if you keep your bike, how are u going to have time to drive your new car??
Either get rid of the bike and keep the Z, or Keep the bike and buy a cheap cheap car...like spend 10-15k on a used car.
RX-7's break and im not fond of the rotary...
The Evo is a great go fast car, cheap to mod and all...and AWD but HIGH insurance.
I think your best bet with NO loss would keep the Z. Youor going to lose out on selling it.

if you insist on getting a car that can be fast.. i suggest on getting a eclipse gs-t or gsx... i've owned two.. and have one as a project as one. when i had the first one.. my insurance was just $60 but thats not full coverage.. with the money saved i was able to catch up on with my debt.
the eclipse isn't as fast as the 350z.. but you can mod it and its not very hard to make a FI car fast. i'm planning on ditching my project and getting a running eclipse gst as a daily.
just to add.. if you blow the eclipse motor.. its around $800-1200 for a used motor.. which isn't bad. i'd really push for a eclipse

Thanks for the heads up with the RX7. Just curious.
I've narrowed my choices down but either I'm heading with a cheap 2006 Evo IX i found, or i'm going to look more into WRX(non STI).

Insurance on Evo is more than a Z, I used to own one when it first came to U.S. Don't know about Rx-7, but if you want sport car that cheap on insurance then get a Rx-8, the insurance company don't consider it as "high performance" car like Evo, WRX, or 350Z. I owned a Rx-8 about 2 year ago, and the insurance is pretty cheap.

well what i'm trying to do. is technically sell my car for idk high 20's. find a nice or decent evo or sti for around 20-23 and with the extra cash put it all down on the car which will help with my payments alot.insurance im not worried about. and yes i'd also like a turbo car.easy to mod and i wont have to throw down 12-15K for a TT 350z
