i dont have any experience However as long as the car is in good shape and like you said the warranty is good till 100k or 2010 I wouldn’t be too worry about it. Honestly since the new GTR is coming out soon, a lot of people will be selling their Z. I would search the forum before I go to any dealer, I don’t trust stealerships either

Good luck

If the tranny was defective, it would have shown up before 57K.

Neither do I. Ask to see the warranty. Is it transferable?

are you buying the car from a nissan dealership? is the warranty being transferred? you should also check if its being "certified pre-owned" versus "pre-owned warranty." i think there might be a slight difference. when i bought my '03 last october, i thought i was getting a certified pre-owned, but apparently, the dealer sold me the nissan-security plus warranty, which is basically an extension of the bumper-to-bumper.

is there a difference between the two? im going to assume that "certified pre-owned" means more inspection of the car before its sold (i.e. 100point inspection or whatever it is). the warranty i got, seems like they didnt look too deeply, cause my battery died, clutch and tranny replaced, all within the first 2 months (i forgot to tell them my emergency brake was loose as a goose). all was covered under warranty

There are different pre-owned nissan warranties. All of them are called security plus. I had the certified pre owned "WRAP" contract with 0 deductible on my '03, which I believe is the best one.
