first of all sorry for making 2 post in one day in the buying sub-forum but i was looking around for z's and came across one that was WAY underpriced.

I emailed the seller and was wondering if anyone think this is a believable story and that someone would really want to get rid of a car like this?

They are asking $6,000 for this car with 4200 miles. I emailed them for a VIN so i could get a carfax and i asked why they kept saying truck instead of car.

Too Good to be true? Car looks immaculate from the pics but im not sure about this whole deal.

 

Go see it in person - don't trust pics, especially since the VIN comes up as a truck. Sounds like a scam to me.

 

100% scam. it sickens me that more than half the cars for "sale" on craigslist are spam scams. they say CONTACT MY EMAIL! then they make a sob story saying the car belonged to their brother\sister\wife\husband who died in iraq... they always request your personal info and stuff too.

 

Why are they referring to a Z as a "Truck".

Without other details it's impossible to give you an opinion.... I don't even know what kind of car. You say Z they say truck.

But without even knowing the details, I'd say scam.

 

i think i got an email from a husband and then a wife. I emailed them back like 10 minutes ago and asked for the vin so it hasnt been ran yet and asked why they were calling it a truck.

 

too bad their is no car for sale to go and see...

 

autotrader btw. Not saying its not a scam because its on there just saying its not craigslist

 

car is in VA so like 6 hours from me. Sounds dumb that im looking for cars so far away but hey. If i can spend the extra 200 dollars to drive there to save a bundle why not?

 

I have seen this before. Its like a 04 -06 car with low miles, pretty much brand new for like 5-7k and when you email the person they say they have moved to (somewhere over seas) and its to expensive to ship and they dont want to pay to store it over here. I have seen this twice on autotrader.

 

Didnt say anything about them moving or anything. Was wondering if i could ask for specific pics of certain parts of the car to see if its really in the persons possesion. Maybe make me feel like it was someone who owned the car at lease.

lol yeah i gave up. The Vin came up a honda crv. So its went from z to truck to crv. Awesome. And they started asking for personal info.

I sold my Z and am buying a 2005 Acura RSX, and like 50% of them on there are "too good to be true".. If they find a way not to give you a number or tell you they are in Florida when you are in CA then it's a scam.. If they find a way so that you cannot see the car before you buy it's a scam

I work with 419eater.com and we bait the scammers to get all sorts of neat things from them. I have got some nice artwork from the scammers

 

I emailed them back on this morning on why the vin came up a crv and they havent got back to me.

Scammers suck

 

Is this how ebay auto buying really works? Seems legit to me but I have no idea how ebay does this. This is an email the lady sent back to me.

Regardless of how you buy your car, See it in person before you spend mass amounts of money.

Way too many scams going on for you to just "trust" them.

And for your question, NO...Ebay does not hold onto cars, the seller takes all responsiblilty for shipping and whatnot.

Do you have any idea how much space Ebay would need to store everythign people "gave" them??!

Scam...scam...and more scam.

Trust your gut, if it seems too good to be true, it is.

Anywya I just read that the ebay seller is on a "business trip". Thats the classic #1 scam excuse.
