Default Manufacturer to Dealer Incentive

I was just on USAA pricing out a brand new 08 Z Coupe and it appears as if there is now a manufacturer-to-dealer incentive with an expiration date of 12/1/08.

2008 Z Base $25500
2008 Z Enthusiast 6MT $26750

Those are the prices that brand new Zs will go for now.

Obviously when you drive it off the dealer lot, you'll lose at least $3000 in value. And with the 370Z due in January and impending winter months, the value of a 07-08 Z will easily drop below $20,000.

***Check Page 2 for Updated USAA pricing!!!

It would help to know what the amount of the incentive is. The prices you've posted are not really "the prices that brand new Zs will go for now." The price that any car goes for depends on the car, the dealer, the amount of help from the factory, and your negotiating skills.

Just in time for me to pick one up. Hopefully I can swing it past the woman of my dreams.

USAA doesn't tell you but I'm guessing it is $1000. USAA receives bids from participating dealers in your area. I'm in Central Jersey and there's tons of inventory left over for the Z so nearly every dealer still has 2 or 3 on the lot. All you do is bring in the print out from USAA to their participating dealer and there is no negotiation.

What the final print out sheet does say is the invoice of the car and the adjustment which happens to be "$1900 below invoice".

Edmunds is showing $1000 on the roadster only. Not the coupe.

I know. But the dealer that submitted the pricing to USAA is showing that it applies to the coupe and it's USAA policy that you bring in the print out and that is the price you pay not including TTL.

So far I can get a base one for $24k. I wonder if I'll be able to get $23-22 when the next $1500 off comes..It also depends on the dealer, some are just lame about making a good price.

I am in the market to purchase a 350z probably within a month
so i guess this would be an appropriate first post.
How do i price out my own Z through USAA? Is there a specific website?
I would like to have a print out for a touring package with navigation.

well since nobody else has replied I guess I will.

You have to be a USAA member to begin with. If that's the case just go to the new car buying program and select NEW car. Then pick your options etc...

Ayways, a 08 enthusiast is going for about 26.6 before taxes, etc...

$24,000 is not completely out of the range of reasonable selling prices for a base. What the online pricing programs can't really predict is that once in a blue moon a dealer is willing to take a larger loss on one or two cars in order to get rid of it. I'm thinking $24,000 is definitely possible on a broad scale once December and January roll around.

Yes, you have to be a USAA member to begin with. Most of the time members are military personnel.

Dealers updated their pricing on USAA. You are about correct in your figure of 26.6. My USAA is now showing that 08 Enthusiasts 6MT can be had for $26,500. An 08 base Z can be had for $25,200. An 08 Touring 6MT is now at $29,800.

Just got a quote from a sales manager. New 2008 Enthusiast for $24k + TTL. You could probably bump it down further.

Don't settle for these high prices!

the dealer near me has 5 base Zs selling for 24k...wait longer and you will get an even better deal. Wait until Christmas or after Christmas and dealerships will be dying to get rid of their leftover 08 Zs. I'm buying one in late December or early January, just right before the 370Zs hit.

Gven the sad state of the economy, what do you think will happen when the 370z hits? Will you be able to get any sort of deal on the 370 right away, or will it be sticker price +?

Mhmm, I was under the impression that these dealer incentives will expire on dec 1st. At least that's what my USAA search said.

+1. That's what my USAA also says. But I'm not worried, Nissan will only keep or up the incentives anyways.

If they don't, you can expect the incentives on the Corvettes to keep increasing as well. Soon, the market price of a brand new Corvette will be so close enough to the incoming 370Z that there will be cross-shopping.

UPDATE

USAA on pricing of 2008 350Z:
6MT base $23,900
6MT Enthusiast $25,100

This new pricing will put tremendous downward pressure on used cars. It seems by January 2009 all used VQ35HR coupe 6mt base and enthusiast trims will not be able to sell for over $20,000 used.

Seems like a great time for a deal. I'm waiting until february to purchase a 350z. Waiting only because I have to (money reasons), but it seems it will work out for the better if the prices drop around jan/feb. Hoping to pick up a 06/07 enthusiast/touring for around 20k.
