Default 2006 Enthusiast w/32k miles for 20k

What's the most I should pay for a 2006 Enthusiast 6spd with 32k miles on the clock? They're asking 20000 but I plan on initially offering them 16.5. Is that too low/unfair of a starting point?

16.5k? bit low.

KBB says an excellent condition for that is 19.5K for private party.
Start at 17.5K and go no higher than 19k

I forgot to mention it's from a dealership. And thanks. Wasn't sure about the bottom line.

I would say 16.5 is fair, they are desperate to sell the car....

So I went in to test drive the car yesterday and it's got all of the controls on the steering wheel (cruise control and audio) but I didn't see the TCS switch. (It should be on the right side of the steering wheel kinda close to the ignition, right?)

So either it was an Enthusiast model and I was looking in the wrong place. Or it wasn't an Enthusiast and it had a different steering wheel? Or maybe i'm just confused, because the salesman was trying to tell me that the Enthusiast model didn't come with LSD.

Forgive my newbie questions, but I'd appreciate the help.

If it has steering wheel controls it is at least an Enthusiast. TCS is on lower LEFT of the dash, left of steering wheel.

Enthusiast does have LSD. Salesman is, surprise, surprise, wrong.

OP should tell the dealer he's trying to swindle him into buying a Base! And then threaten to call CNN! Then negotiate.

If it is too low a starting point they will tell you. See if you can figure out what they may have paid for the car, you can make some guesses. I'd start at that number, whatever you think it may be. If they have had the car on the lot a while you will have more leverage. Being in LA, seasonal variation won't be as much as it is in some parts of the country.

FWIW, I paid $20k for a 2006 Grand Touring with 20k miles in pristine condition. The car you are looking at has many more miles, is a much lower trim level, and you are looking a couple months later after the economy has nose-dived. I'd probably start at $16k and see what happens. Seems to me it is a buyers market right now.

I have an '06 Enthusiast, and as much as i hate to admit it, its probably not worth more than about 17K. And it is still pristine. But depreciation on the Z as been above average, and current market conditions have made it even worse.
