Hey, props for reusing an existing thread!

Wish others would do the same

On that note, I just loved the Z so much, everything else under 100k looked sort of twisted and out of focus. Several years latter, nothing has changed. No car is perfect but the Z fits me better than anything else.

Honestly, I CAN afford to buy M3 with no problem just can't see my self driving a German/american car.

Sorry but I found the original question REALLY stupid.
"Are you buying a Z because you can't afford a <blank>?"

Just imagine I'll go to a M3 forum and ask, "Are you buying an M3 because you can't afford a Porshe 911?"

Then I just go on and ask a RSX owner, "Are you buying the RSX because you can't afford a 350Z?"

uh..... You always have a price range when you buy something. Then you pick what you prefer within that price range.

In my case i would be downgrading and upgrading...if one can do that at the same time. I'm still on the hunt for a used Z. But along with a lot of other BMW drivers...the car has had too many problems. Yeah, I'll miss the leather and the amenities. When I get a Z, I'll be buying to get in a sports car...tried and true. BMW's are luxury, Z's typically are not. I think it will be a fair trade off.

Plus to get to the root of the question, I have a price range like BB1314 mentioned. I know what it is and I try to stay in it. Hell, I'm not doing too bad living on a military salary.

Hmm, cool thread. Kinda glad it was bumped.

I decided to save up (since I can't afford to buy one) after I drove Miluo's (GunmetalZ). I was originally going to save up for an LT1 Corvette, but I thought "I could get a newer car at the same milage, similiar or better performance, and superior styling for the same price."

See sig for progress-comma-lack-thereof.

I bought a Z because a boxer didnt appeal to me, i was acutally goign to get a New 07 g sedan but couldnt stand the 4 door and the handeling . And my last choice was a lotus but insurance was insane. So i feel in love with the Zs and the whole design point etc heritage etc. So i had 2 Zs already and look foward to having one as my sports car platform of choice. I see myself getting a m45 in the future while having a boosted Z in the garage

I prefer the Z. In my eyes one of the best looking cars on the road regardless of price. And its definitely fast. I love Nissans and especially Z's....I imagine I'll own future Z's as my new cars to come.

Nope. I paid mine off in 18 short months. I test drove a number of other sports cars and the Z was the best handling in spirited driving on the streets. The Porsche Boxster S was as close as another car came to the fun factor.
