Rebuilt or Salvage, it doesn't matter. The car will always only be worth 1/2 to 2/3 of what a car with a clean title would be worth. Sounds like the car is a GT with only 9K miles. Not bad. Find out (from Nissan) if the factory warranty is still in effect. 2006 had problems with oil consumption and Nissan replaced a number of engines.
I bought a 2006 GT coupe with 21k miles for $20k in September before the bottom dropped out of the car market. It is worth a lot less now. The car you are looking at would be worth 1/2 that.

If changing a title from "savage" to "rebuilt" is so easy don't you think that the owner would do it?
