isn't the OTD price what you would pay TOTAL including monthly payments. not trying to flame i am just confused on this
Have you ever financed a car before man?

A rough estimate is for every 10,000 advertised you spend on a car, you can expect to pay 220 a month.

Just cuz I'm paying 450 month doesn't mean i'm paying 32.4 for the car. The rest is interest.

I was about to finance a 370z before I realized how much dealerships **** you on interest. We agreed on a price of 30,813 which would ammount to 625 a month for 72 months. Which, when paid in full, would equal $45,000.

That's why I vow that the next time I buy a car, I pay for it in full and do not finance.

Was this a decent deal?
Let's assume an interest rate of 7.5%, which is not great. Going to any online auto loan calculator and punching in your numbers shows you just paid $27026, or more than MSRP - current rebates. Most people are paying well under invoice on 08s now. Bend over because that's the position that the dealership just had you in.

Unless he pays the car off before the loan terminates. Then he only paid like 25-25k which I'd say is the OTD price of most 08's now. Financing is not bad when you have a low interest rate. The only way to have a low interest rate is to get there in time by taking out loans. Sucks but after time you save money.

No, assuming he got 7.5%, he ended up paying 27k + interest, not even close to 25k. If he got a lower interest rate than 7.5%, that just means the base price of the car was even higher than 27k. The only way he could have gotten 25k was if his interest rate was 10.4 .

Im talking to a dealer right now... about an 08 350z base for 23K (hoping for 22K) OTD.

Do you know about how much more it would be for an Enthusiast model?

Not OTD. I had to pay 7% tax and misc. DMV fees.

It's used. Don't pay new car prices for used vehicles. Tell them to lower the price or you'll buy a new one for the same price.

yea thats what im thinking, however this is the best used price i can find for what the car is. and as far as new cars go well today i searched for new enthusiasts and called around and no one really had one that i could get a price on...i might end up biting the bullet on this one i guess unless i find something quick.

Expand your search. Don't be afraid to drive a ways to pick up your new car. Start with Nissanusa's dealer search.

Default Deal in NC

I think I got one of the last base models in NC. Picked it up Friday. $23150 OTD, no trade. I had regretted that I ever sold my '03 z in 2006. Also, I guess we get a fed tax credit on the state sales tax, correct? Not so happy about the red color but it's growing on me!

is it worth it to buy a New 08 Z? Because with all the depreciation that is bound to hit it? I am afraid of buying it new and then it loses like 4k in 1 year.
I have been looking for a used Z to buy but my parents keep telling to buy a new Z instead because they dont want me to get a used Z and having to shell out money for repairs and such. (my parents dont know much about cars. They hear alot of bad experiences from relatives buying used cars so they are willing to pay the difference for me to get new.)
Any advice?
