Default Should I buy this 2005 Z

Hello,

I am new to the forums and have been searching here for a long time trying to gather info and find the right z to buy. I think I finally found one but am kinda split due to some bodywork and such I found on the car. The 2005 350z is a base model 6 speed with about 44k miles. I can see some body work was done to it and the carfax states that it was in an accident damaging the right front passenger side. I drove the car and it definitly looks like it needs a new clutch and when I told the owner this, he agreed with me. I got him down to 13k but after thinking about all these problems, I did a doubletake and figured I should ask the professionals. Thx in advance for any replies.

Also, I forgot to mention that it is still covered under warranty up to 60000 miles or 2011.

needing a clutch at 44k means either:
a) its not the clutch
b) he drove the car really hard
c) he doesn't know how to drive a manual trans

the stock clutch should last at least twice as long as that.

since it is just a base model, and being that there has been an accident with some apparent obvious repair work, I would pass. LSD, TCS .. lots of things that make the Z a much better vehicle in the higher tier models.

you should be able to find a enthusiast/touring 03-05 with varying miles on them for 13-15k.

Yeah, I guess I'll start looking for another one. I've been looking for like 3 weeks now to no avail. I got excited about this one but I really don't want to have problems in the future. I used to have an 03 g35 that was in an accident but wasn't reported in carfax. It caused me waay too many problems and I'm trying to stay away from a repeat. Thx for the quick replies and the advice guys.

Bodywork can either be done poorly or well. Frame damage? Photos always helpful.

I wish I had pictures to show you guys.....Im pretty sure its bad bodywork if I'm able to tell the work was done since I'm not that much of a professonal when it comes to bodywork. I think I'm gonna pass on this one and start looking for another. I found another that's pretty close to me, its an 03 with 38000 miles. The guy listed it for 11900, I'm gonna check it out prolly today or tomorrow and post here again for advice after I see it. Again, thx for all the advice!
