That is the same decision I had to make. I couldn't spend that kind of money on a poor mans version so I bought the Grand Touring. All it will take is one simple bolt on to make up the difference in the 7 HP the HR makes over the DE.

I would get the Grand Touring. I love the HR motors way more than the DE or Rev-up, but I would much rather have all the extras than the faster car. I love the brembos, the rays rims, and the bose sound system.

Depends on where you're going with the car. Are you a modder? Do you like to mod? Can you live without cruise control? If you mod and can live w/o cruise control, get the HR! You can always add BKK, sound system, leather seats later if you wish to. If you don't mod much and the 06 Grand Touring doesn't have a history of oil consumption, that might be your ticket b/c it's loaded from the factory.

Dude, the Grand Touring's got everything...even the Brembos! And the model year means nothing.....Everybody thinks my car is a brand new '09 and I've got an '03 LOL!
Options like leather seats ect is something you'll be very glad you got in the long run. I don't see any point in getting an '08 unless they have the same options list...especially if the '06 is Grand Touring cuz that's got the fully loaded interior AND the track model additions (BREMBOS!)
Options > model year
