Default HELP please! buying z tomorrow

Hi

I am looking at buying a 2007 350z with the sport package.
Please help with the following:

-Is it normal for wheel/curb rash to occur on the 19 inche factory ray wheels? All 4 wheel on this car have some sort of rash

-The rev needle bouces a bit when you jam on the gas peddle. Is this normal?

-did the factory intake box say stillen on them or is this aftermarket?

-Is it normal to need all 4 new brembo brake pads at 18,000miles? Is this a sign of abuse?

-did the car come stock with rockford fosgate front speakers or are these aftermarkets?

Other than these the car drives fine. Thanks on advance for the help =)

What is the sports package for a 350z?..

-Is it normal for wheel/curb rash to occur on the 19 inche factory ray wheels? All 4 wheel on this car have some sort of rash

^^^ What? is it normal for rash to occur? if the drivers an idiot and doesn't give a **** or doesn't know how to park. it's not normal, no.

-The rev needle bouces a bit when you jam on the gas peddle. Is this normal?

mine doesn't do that.

-did the factory intake box say stillen on them or is this aftermarket?

that is aftermarket. it's probably the older shittier set up too. there is a 3rd generation of stillen long tube intakes that are actually pretty nice for the HR.

-Is it normal to need all 4 new brembo brake pads at 18,000miles? Is this a sign of abuse?

that's not really a sign of abuse, that's pretty decent life for pads on a car that has a bbk.

-did the car come stock with rockford fosgate front speakers or are these aftermarkets?

aftermarket

-Curb Rash? ^^see Entaille's response

-Rev needle?
Is this above 7k rpms? Or perhaps the tires are trying to break lose and tcs is preventing it(dunno myself)? Is it a 6 speed?

-intake: nope, not stock

-Brakes, n/c

-front speakers not stock, though you might want the rest of the information for the sound system such as an amp and whether the rear speakers were removed or are still there. Not that it matters much, but they're things *I'd* look into.

Something to add to what I said earlier:
Keep in mind that in addition to pads you'll probably need rotors as well, or at the very least they'll probably need resurfaced. If you have brakes done it can easily run over $1k (is why I do my own).

In short I'd agree with what Ghost is saying. Imo check out the "for sale" section of these forums; maybe you'll find something you like better.

-The rev needle bouces a bit when you jam on the gas peddle. Is this normal? I'm not too sure what your talking about, but the rev needle/RPM jumps when you overdo/underwhelm your clutch

-did the factory intake box say stillen on them or is this aftermarket? Not stock

-Is it normal to need all 4 new brembo brake pads at 18,000miles? Is this a sign of abuse? Track/Nismo 350Z model has brembo brakes

-did the car come stock with rockford fosgate front speakers or are these aftermarkets? No doubt, aftermarket. Very few, if any are equipped with this brand

Other than these the car drives fine. Thanks on advance for the help =)
If the car owner is younger than you, or around your age, I'd stay away unless mileage is lower than the normal average standard of 12,000 miles a year.

I'm guessing your not going to be into modding your car? If so, please do alot more research.

Id walk away. No curb rash is not normal unless your a sh*tty driver. Even then (such as Ive made) one mistake on one wheel is acceptable but all 4. no way. Aftermarket intake and speakers. brakes??? not sure but if they need to be replaced purchase the hawk pads and perhaps rotors from a BBK company. You should check these things before purchasing, not the day before.

Brakes are simple and cheap if you do them yourself. Wheels , who cares, curb rash happens and some owners just don't care about it. Unless your looking to a have a perfect looking Z with stock wheels , rash shouldn't matter. Intake, isn't bad , but i would rather recieve the car with a stock intake and the speakers may be a bonus.

the needle bounces when you jam on the gas pedal? like...when it hits 7k? Is the car in gear when you do this? Does this happen during acceleration? Do you have the car stopped and in neutral? The fact that you think "jamming on the gas peddle" is a phrase for something that is common practice among car owners concerns me.

Unless by "jamming" you mean like...listening to music and playing along with the gas pedal as the kick drum.

Welcome. Curb rash is normal if you normally hit curbs.

Thanks all for the replies.
I took the car on a 24hr test drive and put 400km on it and it drives very well and is super clean. This is what puzzles me. The rim rash isnt terrible except on the passenger rear wheel. I also test drove a new 370 today and I like the way this 350z drives over that. I am not sure what to do. I left a deposit (refundable) on it. The dealer said they will get the rims fixed at cost for me. The car was a LEASE. Is that a bad thing? When i say 'jam' the peddle i mean if u punch it and then release right away or if you dont release the clutch smoothly the tach shakes then adjusts. The speakers are infact alpine type r's in the front, everything else is stock. The intakes sound good.
Please advise
Thanks
ps should one be able to feel the engine on these cars idle ever sol slightly?

No because it's against carfax rules. And I thought you couldn't modify a lease?

^^ how many sales mgrs you know actually inspect a lease return besides looking for dents and tires especially if its a returning customer. Half of them dont even know what an intake tube is.

uh.. you really think it's up to the sales manager to inspect a lease return? any idea how much money they could lose if they didn't inspect them more thoroughly? think about that one.
