Default Got screwed out of a VPP number...and maybe my Z

Hi guys, I've been shopping for a Z for about 4 or 5 months now. One of my friends works for an affiliate of Nissan. Recently, I told him how much I wanted the Z and he offered to give me one of his VPP numbers. Then I started talking about the Z and all it's great qualities and even brought him along to go test drive one. He bought one the next day (last week). I was like wow, that's great...we'll both have Zs.

Today I found out that his went to go buy a LS Touring, using up his 2nd VPP number for the year. I understand that, of course, pops has precedent over me or anyone else, but I was soooooo close. It's just disappointing. I was counting on the VPP number to give me a break because my insurance would be high already.

So, anyone out there have a spare VPP number they would be willing to give me? Just wanted to vent...

When I purchased my z there was no additional discounts for employees about one month ago. Beside If a grand breaks you you don't need a Z.

It could be a lot more than $1000 if you factor in MSRP and the DAP/FYC.

Wait till 2004. VPP is a great deal if you can get it.

If you factor that in, other wise work the deal and purchase one inexpensivley. I don't think nissan is going to give any great offers for employees for some time and at most it would be a grand. Two months of payments. Don't let a thousand dollars keep you from enjoying a great sports car.

Well, if you think about it ... you're only 2 months away from (2) more VPP Numbers! 01/01/2004 is right around the corner, isn't it?

I work for an affiliate of Nissan and I have access to the Nissan/Infinity VPP. As of three months ago neither the 350Z nor the G35 coupe were on the list.

You basically get the car at cost with the program, but from what I've seen, no car that is really "hot" is going to make the list.

The Z might be on the list now.

The thing about the VPP is that its designed so that people will not be able to hand their VPPs to other people.

With my company you have to own the car for six months or something like that before you can sell it.

Best of luck to you. I hope you get your VPP number and find a dealer who will honor it, because it WILL save you a heckuva lot of money.

I was lucky enough to have a friend who works for Nissan and the VPP number he got me saved me $4000 off MSRP on a 2004 Touring Z. That comes to about $800 off invoice.

Heh, sorry. It looks like he's used up his 2 for the year. Wish I could help.
