Default thinking about getting a 350 but not so sure anymore..

i was hoping to get this 03 redline z but im reading all these fourms and it seams to have alot of problems. and this is a used 03 with 56k on it for 15900 but i dont plan on paying that much. and it only comes with a 3 month powertrain warrenty or somthing. so say 5 months down the line my engine blows up due to that oil problem im S*** outta luck right? and what other problems does the 03s have that i should be careful about?

You'll be fine. Get the Z.

Only issue I had with my '03 was the tire feathering issue.

Oil consumption does not cause engines to blow. 1 qt of oil per 1000 miles is not a big deal, IMO. The biggest thing besides the tire feathering problem in the early Zs was the early transmissions. My 03 has the original transmission and the car has been tracked hard its entire life. My wife's 04 has 90000 miles on the original transmission without issue. My 04 G35 had a new transmission put in it with 2000 miles. It's a crap shoot, but the car's are reliable and stout.

Relax. Take a deep breath. Let it out slowly. Feel the tension flow from your body.

This forum will frighten any potential buyer. We are Z nuts and complain about everything. Best way to avoid potential problems is to chose a reliable model year.

with any used car you could end up blowing the engine.. what are the odds? you never know.

pick it up and go ahead with it.. you won't regret owning one.

believe me i have no intentions of speding 15900 for a 03 Z. 15 flat or 14500-14900 sounds more like it. and what exactly is the wheel flutter and if anything on my engine or trans breaks im F***ed right cause theres no warrenty?

Not flutter, Tire feathering due to improper alignment. Not a huge deal.

Also check to see if the fuel hoses have been replaced due to the 2006 Recall. There was defective fuel hoses which over time can potentially crack and cause fuel to leak.

Call a dealer with the VIN# and ask if there are any open recall's and or if that one specifically was completed.

It may not be an issue based on regional location as well.

google edmunds tmv for an 03 similarly equipped z. I would offer around 12,000

Good luck
