Entaille i apologize if it came across rude or anything I didnt mean it that way. Dhayes is absolutely right. Car payments suck and the way cars depreciate imo it makes more sense to buy a car after the depreciation has taken its biggest hit which is in its first few years. I remember I had this lady that bought an 04 ml350 brand new 65K 3 years later she wanted to trade it in it was only in the book for 28k to lose that amount of $ that quick is just ridiculous. People need to take more responsibility for there finances there is way too much info available out there to continue on this way.

Thanks for the info, guys. This was a rude awakening, but a well needed one. It looks like I'll keep the honda for a couple years, or at least until I can break even on the loan. Maybe i'll do a little work under the hood to keep me off the dealership lots. At least I can sell back any money I put on parts and get a decent chunk of change for a DP on my next car.

I don't think I'll ever be the kind of guy who pays cash for a car, but maybe I can at least put myself in a better financial situation that won't leave me upside down in my vehicle. I'm on the right track to pay off my bills right now. I just need to keep that up.

Thanks again,
Zach

good decision, honda civics hold good value so you will be ok. i didnt mean saving up 15k for a car i meant like 5-6 for a good decent car its kind of hard doing that nowadays but when you put pencil to paper and figure how much your actually paying the banks over what the selling price was its depressing almost criminal but when it comes to finances always think for the future thinking in the present will always get you in trouble good luck
