Default Tips? Opinions? (:

hello guys,

well I'm new to the forums, and fairly new to 350z's. I've been scoping them out for a few months now, and i'm really interested in buying one for myself.

I'm a student, and thinking about taking out a car loan, and perhaps purchasing this car here, http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Is this a good buy? I would like to save up, invest in this car and turn it into a hobby. There is a nice car club/racing scene out here that i'd like to be apart of.

But I need tips and opinions. What to look for, what to avoid, etc. Hopefully there is some expert 350z enthusiasts that can offer me some words.

the loan will be $14,000-$15,000.

with a possible $1000-2000 down.

car looks nice. on the bottom it sais to make an offer, so maybe you can lower it a few hundred, might even get it down to 14k.
idk about a loan, never took one out for a car, just paid for the Z in cash. (my Z cost way less than this one, but its an 03 and more miles)
good luck

According to Edmunds that car is worth 12.2k,personally I would look for and enthusiast/Track/Grand Touring model. I own a base model and really miss CruiseControl and LSD.

isn't a 06 known for oil consumption issue? I'd say save up a bit more and go for a 07 and up.

any year prior to 06 had the oil consumption problems. But +1 on anything 07 and up. you get the new hood and new interior. also you get ~30 extra ponies

It looks pretty clean to me. I would make him an offer, see if the price will go any lower, then see what kind of loan you can get. Since it is used, i would highly recommend getting it professionally inspected before you purchase.

Initial enthusiasm for the 350Z is high. After all it is a damn exciting sports car. But once the prospective buyer looks at cost, insurance, limitations of a 2-seater and winter driving, enthusiasm is often replaced by practicality.

I have always believed that the 350Z is for the enthusiast. Some drivers are blown away with excitement - don't over think the purchase.
