I am going to look at a '06 350z enthusiast w/ 46,000 miles on it.

after-market is as follows:

New rear tires (Hankook V12 275/35/19 ), Short ram intake, Magnaflow exhaust, eibach springs, 19" Hype R1 wheels, full Nismo V2 kit.

The KBV for the car is $20k+. I know of the seller as a member of the local car scene, so he is more trustworthy to me than an unknown seller.

I will be going to take a first hand look at the car today. As a new Z owner, what would I need to look for in this car to make sure everything is to spec and the $16.5 is a good deal?

Oil Consumption.

 

16.5k sounds like a decent deal, but take a look at it first. As the previous guy said, the 06 is known for its oil consumption issue, so take that into account when looking for a Z.

03-04 (if I remember correctly)and 07-08 do not have the oil consumption issue, however the 03-04 may have a tire feathering issue. By now, it should have been taken care of by current owners of that generation. The 07 manual transmissions have a clutch slave recall.
