From sentra to 350....
Like the title states, looking to get into the 350 world. Have had a love for these cars since they've come out. Currently I have a 2002 Nissan Sentra GXE and its time for something new. Came across this a few days ago, sent an email to the dealer and offered them $12k for it......Does 12 still seem a little high? after looking for the past few weeks it seems like 10-12 for a low mileage Z is about right. Just thought I'd get every ones thoughts. Thanks for looking!!

Feedback is greatly appreciated, and yes I know it's silver and every one and their mother has silver.

Sentras are nice, well at least this one I have owned has been. I've put it through hell and back and have had nothing go wrong with it. Just normal wear and tear items. But it's got 165k miles now and have had the car for 8 years so its time for something new.

Generally, I would go on cars.com or autotrader. Look up the Z that have similar trim and mileage. Look at what they are priced at. If they are dealer sellers, I'd say whatever they listed as, is probably what you can get OTD after bargaining. If you are very good or if they are very desperate, you can go even lower.
Private sellers is another story... But then again... if you find a Z going for 10k vs 12k.... what's a few months of saving for a better lower mileage Z? Or just eat into savings a little bit You are prolly young. You'll make the $ back later.

Thanks for all the responses guys. I'm def. in no rush at all. Like everyone has said on here, just be patient and eventually a great deal will come along. After doing some research on cars.com and autotrader.com it seems like dealers selling their Z's in my area with this kind of mileage want around $14-$15k. The dealers who post on craigslist are asking the same. I expanded the search on both sites to 250+ miles and the price usually sticks around 14-15. I've had my sentra for 10 years now, was very fortunate for my dad to buy me a car when I turned 16. So this will be my first car purchase, and I want to do it right, and get what I want. Again thanks for all the input guys and I will be my eyes out for great deals...*must be patient* lol....Just have the itch to go and get a Z right away!!

Summer time isn't really helping either haha... if you want to save big, probably will have to wait till winter. Plus you are in Oregon. Not sure if it snows pretty bad / ices up over there, but if it's hard to drive this car in that type of climate, dealers will have harder time selling them; hence more discount. Also, if you want one BAD, just accept the fact that you'll probably have to pay more for it to have fun earlier.

You've been given some very valuable information from the people who have posted so far. However, one aspect in my opinion that is of great importance, especially if you're planning on modding in the future, is car color. If you plan on waiting it out a little to try to find the best deal for you/car you like, then I'd check into color as well.
Color can completely change how a car looks, especially when you start adding in suspension, body parts, and wheels, hence why I think it's of such importance.
Just food for thought. Good luck!
