This is probably due to a number of factors. Now, I'm not an actuary, so don't quote me. The Sentra has some already established numbers, such as theft rates, claims, etc. The demographics of driver are already established, too. The average driver age of the Sentra is probably much younger than the projected average driver age of the Z. Extrapolate from there.
My premium on a 2000 Integra GS-R is 2000 bucks a year! I paid less for a '92 VR-4!!! (mostly because of the price of the car brand new was much more) I have had quotes from insurance companies averaging about 1600 a year for me in a Z and I'm 26 with no record.
What were you quoted by All-State, btw? I'm in the area and I'd love to know what they told you. Thanks.

I agree the biggest factor is the age of the drivers that usually buy Sentra, I think they tend to be in their teens to early twenties and the beat the sh#$ out of the car, have higher rate of accidents and therefore more claims so they stereotype the drivers into a category that will be more costly to them. I have allstate and my rate is 506/6 months.

When I was checking rates on the Z when I pre-ordered, the number I got on the Z was equal to a WRX, and less than an f-body. Oddly enought, the insurance on a vette was cheaper than the insurance on a camaro. Go figure.

Wow....I feeling it for ya guys....my insurance is awesome, to be honest I don't even remember how much it is, only that it's 30 bucks over my previous car ('99 Miata), so I totally didn't worry about it! USAA rocks!
