Here is where im at... need some opinions
ok so im 21 living with my fiance. we will be getting married in August. i make 20 bucks an hour FT. She said i can buy a z after we get married. i might wait till after our honey moon also. Im looking at around 5k down. maybe a little more. depends if i sell the focus.
im looking at all my options for z's right now.
either A: 03-05 Z with low miles for around 10-12k
or B: 06-08 Z with low miles for around 22k
Are the DE's really that bad? (i would like to hear from the DE guys also)
I know all the hype about oil consumption.. but does it really happen that often?
I drive a slammed focus right now.. i want RWD and something faster. So what would you guys suggest? also an 06-08 is very hard to find... really sucks lol

You will have hard time getting a loan on a 03-05. Car is so old, banks need leverage when handing out loans. It was pretty hard for me to get a loan on an 07 at a reasonable rate (and I was only asking for $12k), and I was 24 last year...
But anyways, does your fiance work? Because cost of living itself will screw you over if you have to make payments on a car as well if you only make $20/hour.
But all that aside, I would personally never buy a non HR 350z. I'd gladly pay more to have the HR (07+) for various reasons for which you can find searching this forum.
I guess figure out your financial situation, but my vote is for an 07+. You can always wait later to buy when you are older, or be willing to pay more for it sooner.

I own both a DE (03 track) and an HR (08 nismo) and owned an 08 grand touring before...the HR feels like a completely different car. HR > DE anyday.
BUT seeing how you're getting married, I'd wait until you're settled in to do anything.

Good luck on your future marriage!
Some parts of your questions are subjective.Like are "DE's really that bad"?
What do you mean?
First, you are gonna have a car payment either way.Yes,there is gonna be a loan value that a bank will ok depending on the car you choose.Selling a "slammed" Focus may be
(will be difficult). Its not gonna be snapped up quick unless your price is super low.
I have a DE car,03 Touring. It would seem that you could find a 03-04 with decent low miles.I'd look for a unmodded car.Getting married, you are going to have expenses
that you have never planned.Putting 5k or less down, you should have a decent car payment(insurance?$$).How many miles do you drive a year?Thats a factor...
The key is finding the best car!

OP, I make $8/hr and have over $2,000 depts/monthly. Your $20/hr should e set for life even with little expenses.
I have a DE 35th Edition...mine's ood and fast. Reliale, etc...HR is faster and more potentials. Miht trade for a HR or 370z or heck even a Lexus IS-F next year when I have my tax returns and if I et my other car payment done.
The DE's are older cars ut it's all aout takin ood care of the east. If I wanted somethin fast I would et a Corvette Z06 or Nissan T-R.
P.S
Sorry my keyoards " B" & "g" keys are not workin. So, if you see some words that is misspelled just imaine those 2 letters replacin it and you'll understand what I'm tryin to say. lol
