I can only dream that my wife's TDI will live to see that many miles.

If the car was even remotely abused during a part of it's life then the owner took very good care of it... I say go for it!

I can't believe that anyone in their right mind would even consider buying a sporty car with anywhere near that many miles, over time it would have been beaten down to the performance level of an rsx if that. If you can't afford it, you simply can't afford it, sorry for the bluntness.

I say, buy it. Then boost it.

I think 5k is a good price. this car should be purchased as a project car imo

you have to approach a drivetrain of this age as something highly questionable. this would be a good car for someone to convert into a track/drift car with new drivetrain and suspension bits.. but as is, everything's going to be really worn out and you'll have little confidence in the thing.

the body/wheels etc all look to be in good shape, so that's worth something.

I don't think he bought it. Think everyone talked him out of it.

I'd buy that for 5k and make a track car out of it. Drive it the rest of the way into the ground.
